I have the same problem, just started it after not using it for the winter and it runs and runs and no water. I believe the coolant has leaked from the sealed system and there is nothing you can do. I've had it for 1 year and it has a 5 year warranty. I know from experience, this is the 3rd dehumidifier that I have had this problem with, all different brands. Call for service, I am betting you have not had it very long.

I am having no water, it is running and I have it set lower than the actual room humidity, It has ran over 8 hours with no water in the basket. What's the problem?
Runs continuously with the compressor running; but, no water is being produced. Compressor gets very hot. This unit probably needs recharging and checking for leaks. This units looks to be a very well put-together unit; but, the refrigeration unit has a problem.
No one seems interested in repairing Fedders dehumidifiers blaming the lack of a source for parts.
I have the same problem and no one wants to fix or can fix due to parts. Fedders is currently filling under Chapter 11 since 08-22-07. What other options are there? Buy a new one? What's the cost associated to the repair vs replacement? % yr warranty and it breaks in 2.....too bad they don't make them like the old'n days.
