Water pipes at back of machine need cleaning. They are green inside.

The water pipes at the back of my machine are green! Can they be removed/replaced/cleaned?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

What kind of machine is this?

The green is oxidized copper -- it can be cleaned off with a wire brush -- but it's usually harmless unless it's in a valve and creating an obstruction or causing something to bind.

E a Faema teorema double head and the overflow pipe is constantly dripping water.

If the overflow pipe on your Faema Teorema double head espresso machine is constantly dripping water, it could be due to a few different reasons. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the Water Level: The overflow pipe is designed to allow excess water to escape from the boiler when it is overfilled. Check the water level in the machine and make sure it is not above the recommended level. If it is, try draining some water out of the machine until the level is within the recommended range.
  2. Check the Anti-Vacuum Valve: The anti-vacuum valve is a safety feature that prevents the boiler from becoming over-pressurized. If it is faulty, it can cause water to leak out of the overflow pipe. Try cleaning or replacing the valve if necessary.
  3. Check the Pressurestat: The pressurestat is a device that regulates the pressure inside the boiler. If it is not functioning correctly, it can cause the machine to overfill and water to leak out of the overflow pipe. Try adjusting or replacing the pressurestat if necessary.
  4. Check the Water Inlet Valve: The water inlet valve controls the flow of water into the machine. If it is not functioning correctly, it can cause the machine to overfill and water to leak out of the overflow pipe. Try cleaning or replacing the valve if necessary.
  5. Check for Clogs: If there are any clogs in the water lines or components, it can cause water to back up and leak out of the overflow pipe. Try cleaning any clogs you find or replacing any components that are damaged.
If none of the above steps work, it may be best to contact a professional technician for further diagnosis and repair. They can inspect the machine thoroughly and ensure that it is working correctly and safely.

The hot water comes out but the cold water just trickles.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France, Fri 13;29,

A quick suggestion/check- turn off the cold water feed then remove the cold water pipe from the back of the machine. Inside the piece fitted to the machine you are likely to find a filter. Make sure that is clean and not obstructing the flow. Check at the same time that the water IS coming out of the supply pipe at the right rate before putting it back of course!
If neither the supply nor the filter is the cause the cold water inlet valve in the machine could be at fault.

Hope this helps,

John C

Soap dispenser is opening late. The soap tablet does not get used. It barely gets wet.

Check inlet water supply. Clean the strainer attached to the inlet hose pipe at the machine back side end. Straner is submrged inside the pipe on the machine . Pull it to clean. It is a small one with tiny holes or filter.

Try again! If water pump is not developing pressure also this could happen.

Washer will not spin, filled up with water and stopped. When turn back on, it just humms then stops

The most likely cause is a blocked pipe or drain motor. This could be caused by an obstruction, such as a screw, hair clip or coin jamming the impellor inside the pump. Firstly, try to manually empty the machine of water. Take the drain pipe and lower it to a position below the machine itself. This should cause a syphoning action. Uou may have to give the end of the pipe an initial **** to start the flow. Remember to give the pipe a clean first with hot water and don't swallow any of the water.

Green slime in coffee machine

Try running a couple cycles through of full strength vinegar. If that doesn't do it run a weak bleach solution (6 to 1 / water to bleach) through it. Repeat vinegar every week then once a month if it clears.

Water leaking from Door and Draw from Hotpoint Aquarius Extra

Had the same problem. I unplugged the machine from the mains. pulled it out from the unit and removed the lid. checked the black rubber hose which leads from the drawer to the drum. it was full of water. i carefully squeezed the pipe and tried to clean it out with warm water to see if it was clogged. still leaking. i then Removed the green paddle on the inside and turned the drum to line up with the black rubber hose that leads from the drawer. I very carefully used a wire coat hanger to put through the gap in the drum left by the paddle. Moved left and right, oh look.... A sock! I manipulated it out of the gap, checked the hose. Water had gone. Put everything back together. No leak. All done in under an hour :-)

Water will not shut off

Usually there is a thin pipe from the bottom of the drum to a pressure switch at the top of the machine. As the machine fills the water goes up the pipe from the drum and increases the air pressure in the pipe to a point where it's enough to switch the switch inside. If the pipe gets blocked with washing powder it will not switch off and the machine will keep filling. The pipe is connected to a sort of flat round box with a few wires on it. If you can take the top or back off the machine you should see it and be able to clean the pipe out yourself.

Kenmore 80series washing machine

You have a siphon condition. The water is siphoning out as it fills.
Make sure you only have about 6 inches of the drain hose stuck into the house drain and make sure there is an air gap where the hose goes into the pipe so air can get into pipe. If you have the drain sealed to keep water from backing out of it, you will need to get the pipes cleaned for the washer to work properly.
The pressure of the water going through the pump during siphon is not enough to turn it on the machine.
Post back if you need more help.
