Loud speaker static when the car is off. It drained that battery. I tried pulling the radio fuse but it was still making the noise. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. Any ideas?

I GUESS that the speakers are driven by an after market amplifier. An amplifier needs to be connected to a power source that is only on when the radio is on, through a relay.

So I GUESS that:
  1. The wiring is incorrect. Or
  2. If is has a relay, the relay is stuck.

The fuse might be built into the cable to the lighterand/or radio. It's called "fusable link", this type of fuse looks like a cable. Or another type of fusable link might be in the fuse box under the hood near the firewall.

I have static in my 8/10 mesa cabinet. Its only in the second bank of speakers. The speakers seem to work and sound as good as the others in the cabinet but there is a weird light static sound that comes...

Sometimes there is a resonance with materials that are a part of the case or inside the cabinet that cause this. If the level is very low, don''t worry about it. I have even seen the logo on a speaker grill causing the noise... also debris inside or behind the grille...

My 2005 Accord's radio / CD player will not produce sound to the speakers, the display panel works fine. Sometimes a loud static sound will come from the speakers with no volume control, powering off gets...

The sound chip may have gone in the stereo, especially if someone has had it on very loud they sometimes blow, otherwise you have 2 speaker wires touching each other, that way you only get static noise, insidee the door they sometimes come free and touch the body

Check all your speaker wires first.

Insignia PC speakers - give a weird static feedback noise

I'm going to vote for the haunted option.

Sound like you have some noise on your power lines. This can be caused from many different things. Normaly it is a motor going bad or a compressor starting up. From the AC unit or refrigerator.

See if you can correspond the noise to anything else happening in the house. Fridge starting up, AC or heat cycling on...etc.

It may be that you just have speakers and a cordless phone going bad at the same time.

It might just be Casper the friendly ghost playing tricks... ha!

Static noise coming out of speakers

What sort of computer do you have? Is it a laptop or desktop? Many laptops have this problem and it is quite widespread in laptops. The crackling or humming noise could be a result of interference from the mains power signal.

If it's a laptop, try running it on battery alone (take out the mains power cord). My laptop has this kind of noise in speakers when running on mains electrical supply, but it goes away like magic when I run it on battery.

A more long-term solution is to buy a 'Ground Loop Isolator' and insert it between your computer and the speakers/earphones. They are quite cheap and you could get it for under £10. It removes all static noise and you'll hear crystal clear sound.

The static is probably coming from the computer sound card itself. Turn the volume down on the computer mixer it should limit the static you are hearing.
