Hose burst under stink

I have two identical faucets in my kitchen. Both are 5 years old. One burst under the sink and hot water flooded my wood floor. I need a whole new faucet to match the other one. Kohler A112.18.1, 2.2gpm, 8.3L/min Is there one available? Can't find in HD or Lowes.

I'm sorry that one of your sink pipes burst and flooded your wood floor. I'm having a similar problem, except the burst pipes are in the basement, and so far there are four inches of water on the floor. Maybe you've fixed your problem, but I'm going to call a restoration company to fix the damage in my basement. http://www.redeemingrestoration.com/wate...

It is highly unlikely that the faucet failed; it's far more likely the feed tube between the water pipe and the faucet burst. If your faucets were installed 5 years ago, it's likely that they were installed with flexible feed tubes. Reach up under the faucet and unscrew the feed tube, then unscrew the feed tube from the cutoff valve on the water pipe. Take the burst tube to Home Depot and get a new one - it should cost $10 or so. (I would also recommend picking up a small tube of thread seal - it'll look like a travel tube of toothpaste and cost about $3.) Lightly coat the threads of the faucet connection with thread seal and screw the feed pipe onto the faucet as tight as you can with your hand. Do the same at the cutoff valve end with a wrench but do not over tighten. Once both ends are firmly connected, turn the cutoff valve on and check for leaks. If you find any, try to tighten the connections a bit. If you're uncomfortable with any of this, I'm sure there's a DIYer like me in your neighborhood who'd be glad to help out. It's easy and it's quick once you've done it a couple times. Good luck!

SOURCE: brand new kohler cruette. attached cold and hot water fine. when snapping in the pull out faucet hose it sprays all over under the sink

Hi rysenga, the problem is an omission of directions. The section 9 directions are the worst offender and left me never again to purchase a Kohler product. First, this connection for the pull out hose to the outlet fitting should have been a screw on connection. Should have been. Ok it was not, I'll get over it. But the directions never mention having to install the white plastic bushing. Not at all. Nor does it mention that the bushing should be put on the outlet first and then push the hose connection in. This omission is a huge one, but should help anyone else reading this complete the install. Find the oval lip white bushing and install this first on the body, and then just push the connector in. Done.

Why does my hot water have any pressure/force?

Newer faucets are made to save water by having restrictors in them. Some can be removed, some can't. Phone the maker.

We have a Delta kitchen faucet with a pullout sprayer everything was fine for over a year then it started making a bang bang rattle sound very loud only when the hot water is on it only does it about ever...

Delta comes with a limited lifetime warranty. call them to get free parts. I believe you will need to check several things. Remove the spray head from the sprayer hose, point the hose into the sink drain and turn the faucet on. If it no longer makes the banging noise, replace the spray head. You need to look for a leaking spray hose under the sink also. If the faucet is making noise, replace the ball and cam assembly under the faucet handle. One other thing that I have run into is that the shut-off valves under the sink can also go bad and cause banging and vibration.

The hot water side has low water pressure. The

start by making sure the valve that supplies hot water to the sink and dish washer is fully open. If there is low hot water pressure in any of the other kitchen/bathrooms, then trace the line to see where the pressure drops. If it is only in the kitchen, it should be an old valve, (causes restriction)Good Luck.

How do I disassmble a jado kitchen faucet with

you have to locate the water shut off valves before you attempt removing the water lines, hopefully they will be located on the lines under your sink, if not you will have to shut the water main off coming into the house. After you have shut the water off and disconnected the lines, look under your sink at the back were your faucet comes through the sink and you will find the fasteners, unscrew these counter clockwise and the faucet will lift out .

Low pressure and flow on hot water side of single handle faucet

It could be one of two problems, one simple, one serious.
  • Easy fix
  1. Turn off hot water angle stop under sink to faucet.
  2. Remove supply line from hot angle stop.
  3. Place end of supply line in a small bucket to catch some water.
  4. Turn on cold water for a couple of seconds and backflush debris from faucet.
  5. Reconnect supply line.
  6. Turn on angle stop and test
  • Complex fix
If you have steel pipes you may be experiencing reduced flow due to corrosion in your pipes. Reduced hot water pressure in the kitchen faucet is usually the first sign since this is the faucet that is most used in the home.

Repiping is a job for a professional. Another symptom you may need a repipe is orange colored or rusty water.
