TV loses picture

Lately the TV has been taking a long time to warm up and display the picture. Now it frequently loses the picture. It will go from displaying the picture nice and clear and well lit to suddenly going blank (dark screen). The green power light on the front of the TV keeps blinking. The DirecTV box is still running just fine. Sometimes power cycling the TV gets it going again but not always. The TV is 6 years old and has not had an unusual amount of viewing. I have not noticed the brightness change.

Sounds like your picture tube or bulb is going out. It depends on what kind of tv ( rp, lcd, plasma) it could also be a component issue.

SOURCE: No picture or sound, just blinking power light

Hi...I am sorry to say that I had this exact problem. It ended up being the upper and lower panel drives. I contacted Hitachi and even though my unit was out of warranty, they agree to pay for parts. I paid for labor myself, and it cost me $199.95.

Good luck with it...let me know how it turns out for you.

SOURCE: Vizio LCD Green Pixels

Our Vizio started doing the same thing after only three weeks, except it was also showing green pixel when we watched DVDs.  After checking this site and others and trying all the "tweaking" advised, I finally called Vizio's customer support.  They were extremely polite and tried to help over the phone, but had to send someone to the house to make the repair (anything 40 inches or larger earns a house call). The tech arrived on time and was extremely professional and pleasant -- he had to replace the daughter board and LVDS cables.  So far, so good.

Luxor tv keeps losing picture

Luxor is a budget brand made in Turkey for the Swedish market. You likely have failing components, probably electrolytic capacitors. You put the set on, they warm up and fail. They can be replaced but you are better to invest in a new set by one of the major makers like Samsung, Sony or LG. A quick search shows they have some history of faulting

Picture quality

Contact your local service rep as this sounds like a "not so easy fix' related to the main board or power supply (known issues with Mits boards, especially the capacitors). Cleaning, resetting, re-configuring will not likely make any difference. Verify the problem occurs across all input modes (such as DVD, etc). before taking any service actions.

Picture blanks out

Check your powercord. Unplug it overnight, then plug the power cord back in the morning. If that doesnt help, it means that something is going on with your set. Sometimes your power cord has shorted out and needs to be replaced. Generally you can find them under $100 depending upon your set...
