You push start button and nothing happens, push off button and it does not unlock

Code OP means lid is open. If it really isn't, then the problem is with the switch that sense whether the lid is shut or not. Could be bad switch or bad connection.

SOURCE: code dc appears and has trouble draining and spinning during last 12minutes
I just did a repair on my FAV6800AAW by lubricating the needle bearings in the clutch pulley hub, the tub displacement sensor checked OK per the service manual check. I was getting dc/uc errors, washer was purchased in 7/05. I have basic mechanical skills and used a socket wrench to remove clutch pulley hub, just follow the service manual removal steps to remove clutch pulley hub. Pull the plastic cover off the clutch pulley hub and inspect the spring, clean/lube needle bearings and the clutch hub coupler that drives the spinner shaft. I used WD40 I may need to re-lube down the road with a good light grease. It took a few tries for me to get the clutch pulley hub to stay on after re-install and power up, getting the clutch pulley seated properly is the trick. I did not remove the washer tub for this fix, I believe I saw a posting where someone did. I just leaned the washer back to get a better reach angle, it is a tight work area. I did not want to junk 3.5 yr old $1k machine with out trying a fix. If you want to work on this model get the service manual, I found it online and I believe you can order it in PDF format from Maytag. Good luck!
I just went thru my 10th load of a mix of light, medium heavy loads and all work fine no unbalance errors (DC/UC). Doesn’t fix the tangle problem :) Prior to this fix I could only run the washer with no clothes in it to complete a cycle with no dc/uc error codes.

This forum member’s solution is going in the right direction I’m going to give you a bit more info to troubleshoot the issue if you want to DIY the repair. You have lost signaling from the left lid lock to the control board. The lid magnet could be out of position here is a quick check to try. Raise the lid then press Spin Only key, press on and you should throw the OP alarm to the console. With the lid open place a magnet on the left bumper as shown in this pic. If the OP alarm fails to clear we rule out the lid magnet as out of position.
Next step is to raise the washer top as shown on page 34 of the Service Manual
The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.
To raise the top of the machine insert a flat blade putty knife approximately 2.5” from the left and right sides of the washer top, depress the spring tabs securing machine top to the washer base. See page 33 of the SM for putty knife insertion point.
Disconnect the washer power cord. We can try to reseat the Left Lid Lock a couple of times to see there is there is corrosion causing a issue. Removing the plug is difficult so be careful. See page 34 of the SM, the plug you are going to reseat is shown in the pic on page 34 next to the tech’s thumb in that pic. After reseating a few times power up the machine try a Spin Only cycle, close the lid and hit the on button and see if the left lid lock is signaling the control board that the lid is closed. If you still take the OP alarm then it’s time to remove the left lid lock and inspect for corrosion or a broken wire on the magnetic reed relay. Some owners have found that corrosion has caused the soldered lead ends on the on the magnetic reed relay to break off. They can be soldered back on. See pic’s for corrosion issues and the lead that has broken off the magnetic reed relay.
Follow the SM to remove the left lid lock be careful when you release the tabs on the left lid lock case halves for inspection they break of very easy. Post back if you still need help. If you need to replace the left lid lock here is the part number 25001048 and a link, another. Good luck.

Un plug the washer from the 120VAC outlet.
Insert a plastic putty knife in line with the lid seam and
push in to release catches on the left and right side.
Yhe top cover is hinged at the rear.

5 post doen in the sticky.
LO error code:
Locked: Lid has failed to unlock -
the machine has repeatedly tried to
unlock the lid. Push lid closed to
make sure nothing from the inside is
pressing against the lid, preventing
unlocking.
Is that the issue? Have the Lid locks failed to release and you can't open the Lid?
Or have the Lid Locks released so you can open the washer lid but the error code LO remains?
