Xact Communication Sirius XTR8CK Satellite Radio Receiver with Car Kit Logo

I am going to install an xact xtr8 satellite radio on my H-D motorcycle. When I was going through the web site that I'm going to order from, I noticed some of the radios run on 5 volts and some on 12. Since it's a motorcycle, I'm going to have to splice wires (12 volt). I don't have the luxury of plugging it in the cigarette lighter, and I don't want to blow it up if it runs on 5 volts. Can you tell me if this works on 12v or 5v?

Xact XTR2 will not turn on

Its likely that the unit itself is bad. Do you have another dock or boombox to plug it in and trouble shoot with? If it doesn't power up in multiple sources it could be dead. Either way, TSS Radio can help:

My sirius is stuck on down loading, it still says 0 persent down loading .

Unfortunately some models of the Starmate Replay will not receive the latest updates. I have seen this with XTR8, which is essentially the same radio. If it is one of these outdated receivers, it will not receive the update, and there is not much you can do. You used to be able to let them sit for about 24 hours and it would eventually take. That does not appear to be the case anymore. This isn't the case with ALL of the ST2s if you wanted to hunt down a replacement. www.tss-radio.com can help

Problem with Xact Communication XTR1 SIRIUS Radio Receiver

Turns out the radio isn't broken after all. In my research on your site I ran across a user who said he/she just plugged their radio in, turned it on and waited. I tried that and after a couple of minutes of a Sirius logo screen, then a blank screen followed by a high pitched beep the radio started playing again. I then remembered that one of the last things I input with the remote before the radio stopped working properly was mistakenly selecting an unwanted prompt on the AutoShutDown menu. When the radio finally came back on I selected Factory Default to reset all functions and now it operates properly. Thanks for the help.

Signal Fading In and out

Most of the Xact models use the standard Sirius antenna. Unfortunately Xact no longer supports satellite radios. You can get a replacement antenna from any Sirius dealer and see if that works. Sounds like the antenna wiring might be broken or shorted out.

Bellsouth model 1061

The Bellsouth FRS radios were actually made by a company called US Electronics. Their branding agreement with Bellsouth ended in 2005 but they are continuing to sell radios that are very similiar to the ones they made under the Bellsouth name. These radios are marketed under the name Xact.

Your best bet to locate a manual for the Bellsouth 1061 radio is going to be contacting Xact. Their website is located at: http://www.xactcommunication.com.

Best Regards,
