Cannot download PIXELA ImageMixer 3 SE from my cd, it is scratched and the website doesn't allow me to dowload it can anyone help?

You can download some software for the Vixia HF R100 here: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/camcorders/support-high-definition-camcorders/vixia-hf-r100 . However, ImageMixer 3 SE is third-party software that is only available on the driver disc that came with the camera. Some companies will send you a replacement disc for a small fee. You'll need to contact Canon support, https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/ , to ask if they have discs available.

ImageMixer 3 SE is available here: http://www.pixela.co.jp/oem/canon/e/imagemixer3_se_canon/ . However, this is only for updating the software on a computer that already has the program installed.

i'm really sorry the supplied imagemixer software was designed and created by a 3rd party software company commissioned by sony called pixela, this software is not available for download from our website (due to copyright conecrns): http://www.sonydigitallink.com/dime/camcorders/sd/dcc/dcc.aspxsite=odw_en_GB&m=DCR-DVD100E
and its not available form the pixela site either (all they have are updates w/c requires a full installation of the software to make it work): http://support.dimaging.sony.co.jp/www/disoft/int/pixela/imx/dl/index.html
...anyways if your computer is using a windows vista or 7 OS, this software is useless and compatible (so there's no point in purchasing it). but if it's windows xp and you would really like to purchase the software try to check w/pixela (1-800-458-4029) if you can purchase a replacement software from them (make sure you tell them it's a dcr-dvd100E-european model).

They are greyed out when the camcorder is not plugged into the computer, and a power outlet. Try that.

I have the HG20 that had the same problem. I called Canon support (very nice) turned out that I was using the USB port on the front of the computer. Disconnected and used the USB port on the back of the computer (motherboard) now everything is working fine. Apparently there is a USB hub problem when using the front USB ports. Hope this helps.

Sony got back to me with the answer, so I will post it here for future reference.
If there is no audio when USB streaming with PIXELA ImageMixer version 1.5 software on the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, change the USB capture device setting for sound to USB Audio Device. In the Image Mixer Tool settings, confirm the USB Capture Device settings are set for an available USB Audio Device. This setting is not defaulted to the USB streaming mode.

This would be the icon of an open end wrench in the top right hand corner of the capture environment screen.

Follow this procedure to change the USB capture device setting for sound in the Pixela ImageMixer 1.5 software.

1. In the ImageMixer window, click the USB Device Capture icon.

2. Click the Preferences icon.

3. In the Capturing/Recording Preferences window, in the USB Capture Device Setting section, click the down arrow to select the desired sound device.

4. Click the OK button.
