On my new Insignia 50" tv, the AV input is grayed out (not available as an option).

On my Insignia 50" tv, the AV input is grayed out (not available as an option). I have verizon Fios with a DVR set top box and have that connected to the TV via an HDMI cable (that is hidden within the wall). However I would also like to use my dvd player sometimes but when I switch out of HDMI to try and run the DVD player, the message to run an auto channel scan appears. If I go to the menu, in order to attempt to change the channel on the TV itself vs through the cable box (so my dvd player can connect via a channel) I do not have an option for AV...just HDMI and Channel. How can I get past this? I really do not want to have to manually connect my DVD player to my wall mounted tv using composite or component cables each time. I was able to route the DVD player through the set top box (cable box) with my prior tv. How can I do that with this one?

How do I scan channel on my insignia roku tv

This step may could depend on the model of your Insignia TV. The following applies to the Insignia 39" NS-39DR510NA17 . For the first time setup, press the Home button on the Roku remote and select the Antenna TV icon. Use the on-screen prompts to scan for channels.

For subsequent scans, press the Home button on the remote. Select the Settings icon. Navigate to Settings > TV Inputs > Antenna > Scan Again for channels. Select Start finding channels and use the on-screen prompts.

To watch TV, you can use the Antenna TV icon. Alternatively, change the TV source to Antenna TV from the TV Input list. Press the Back button on the Roku remote while watching any TV input (including the TV). You can also use the TV's Power/Input button. With the TV on, quickly press and release the Power button to see the Input list. Press and release the Power button as needed to navigate between available inputs.

The manual for the NS-39DR510NA17 is available on the product support page: https://www.insigniaproducts.com/pdp/NS-39DR510NA17/4863802 . Settin TV to AV

Look at your remote for a button called "input options" and press that button while watching your screen to see the various choices available. Everytime you press that button, you should see a change on the screen from one choice of input method to the other. It should says things like "AUX, video 1, video 2, hdmi, AV - ect. Keep pressing that button until you see a picture of find the AV input method you want to keep and that should solve your problem.

Insignia flat panel tv

I don't exactly know your model. I can give you a generic type answer.

I can tell you that when you select to have the full screen, it may not work in the mode for the tuner. The reason is that the programs coming in from your tuner are actualy 4:3. When asking for a full screen you are asking for a 16:9 type format. This would stretch a 4:3 picture.

Have you tried contacting the manufacture, or if you know their local factory support place for your area?
