Dvd+r does not read in my computer - LG GSA-H55N DVD-RAM Burner

Try the DVD in a different computer.
If it still cannot be read, then the actual DVD media is the problem.

Try a different DVD in your computer.
If your DVD-drive cannot read _any_ DVD media, then you need to replace the DVD-drive.

Try the DVD-disk in some other computer, to see if the disk is the problem in _more_ than one computer.

Try some other DVD-disk in your computer, to see if your Sony drive can read _any_ DVD disks, i.e., if _NO_ disks can be read, then it's time to replace the drive.

I think your dvd-wr is dead .if the dvd-r neighter writes or reads,it is a hardware problem,not software.
reinstall windows and see the dvd-r stil not read or write DVDs /CDs

Is your DVD drive a Combo DVD ROM and CD Read/writer? If so it cannot burn DVD only reads DVDs and read and burn CDs.
If the program cannot find a DVD burner then either the burning software cannot support that model DVD burner ot the DVD burner is faulty.
To test the DVD burner, remove it and install it into another computer to test the burner to see if is faulty.

I uninstalled my drive and restarted my computer. When everything was back up, Windows automatically searched for and found an updated driver for my drive and everything is perfect now.

Check file extensions of files on your recorded cd's. Add file extension to Roxio, Windows Media player and check your drive settings.

Your computer must be able to read the DVD format or type that is inserted. This is not something where you can just download a program to change. It is in the hardware for your computer. Your computer tried to read the title track of the DVD that you thought was "DVD-RW" and it could not read it but based on the signature that it read thought that it was in "DVD RAM" format.

Solution: This computer will not read that DVD. Either get the information on a compatible formated DVD or find another machine that has DVD RAM capability to read it.
