Mine is a 37-inch Vizio LCD, same problem. Vertical blue line about 40% of the way from the left side of the screen, goes about halfway up the screen from the bottom.

I have a Olevia 40 inch LCD and it is approx. 18 months old and about 2 months ago I get a vertical blue line approx, 1/3 from the left side from the top to the bottom, It shows up as bright blue line when the picture is dark or the background is dark, and when the picture is bright or a very light background it appears yellow or gold colored and fainter. If you tap the top of the screen directly above the line it goes away, however it will reappear later. When the tv, is first turned on it run perfect for about 45 minutes to an hour.
Please email with any solutions. [email protected]

What about voltage? Maybe could adjust Vs down about 5% or so and see if that helps. Only do that when line appears. Probably not that though.

When I first posted to this solution I was a little inexperienced with the TV's fixes. If you have a solid line running from top to bottom on your LCD TV then it is your panel going out about 99% of the time. If you only have one little line mark that spot on the TV where it is located and then you could take a big chance and try and fix it. It is rare but there is a slim chance it can be fixed by tearing the entire TV apart down to the screen itself where you can see the back of the panel and the wires going into it. Then if there is anyway to power the TV up where you can see the line chances are it is a short in the wire that connects to the back of the panel...or if you are lucky it is a cold solder joint on the backside of the TV where the wires that come out of the control board. But basically it is nearly impossible to fix and if you can stand to watch it you would be better off.

    Thanks,
    Ced

you could try taking the tv apart then power it up and tap the line top to bottom with something like the handle of a screw driver as it could be a stuck pixel

Hi I have a 55 inch LCD TV that while I was watching TV it went completely black when I turned it off and the on again there were rainbow vertical lines moving across the screen then at some points there...

My first thought would be to check your TV on multiple inputs to verify that it IS the TV and NOT isolated to your input cable(s). If you can get a solid blue color to come up on the screen by changing inputs then it would really narrow down the issue(s).
Hope this helps.

Phillips flat screen has a vertical blue line, about 2inches wide, running from from the top to about a third down the 52 inch screen. What causes this

Take ur hand and pushes all around the tv frame bazel see if the veritical blue line react like flashes or lighter or darker, than this tv can not be repair at all because the LCD screen itself it is the caused, the LCD screen cost same as a new tv if it is require to be replace. If there are no reaction of the blue line at all than ur tv have a circuit board problem. The T-CON board is dying, this board sit in the middle bottom of the LCD screen, must be replaced will solved this problems.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a new refurbish T-Con board for the replacement.

Screen not working lines, color change, olny on blue screen with line down the middle

Let's see if I understand the problem: when you have a blue screen, you see at least one black vertical line in the center, and when you have other material on the screen the same line(s) is yellow (or conversely, you have a blue vertical line that stays on all the time). If I have parsed your complaint correctly, then you have a bad connection in the LCD panel or a bad LCD column driver chip. It is possible that an expert technician can solve a connection problem by "massaging" the connection or taking it apart and reassembling it, but sometimes this only creates more problems.

Replacing a failed LCD panel driver chip requires specialized equipment. Search for "LCD TAB repair" to find a company with the right tools.

Vertical line on side of LCD TV

Modern televisions have screens divided into sections. Each section controls all the rows in its area, and it is controlled by its own video separate video driver. If you are missing a line in a section, then a problem has occurred with the driver board in that area. It will be pretty expensive to fix, I hope your warranty has not just expired!

Lines on tv screen

Both sound like bad LCD panels. The following must be answered to confirm this:
Do the lines appear on all inputs/all signal sources?
Can they be seen in the OSD/menu?
If yes to both questions, it is likely that the LCD panel is bad
