Question about Nintendo Wii Console

Wii is dead

Our wii was working fine for 20 months, and was being used just about every day. Yesterday I went to turn it on and it was totally dead. Not even the yellow indicator light was on. I disconnected everything and reconnected, and still nothing. Anybody else having that problem, and how do I fix it?

I have the same problem. We played the Wii for months, and then all of a sudden, we tried to turn it on, and nothing... no lights, no noises,,, NOTHING.... I thought at first that a power surge must have hit it, but its plugged into a surge protector with a couple other devices that were not affected....

1. push the reset button and if that doesn't work unplug all cords and memory cards (including sd) from wii and unplug av from the wii and the outlet in wall. Wait 2-3 min or unplug the wii overnight and The trick i use was to literally smack the power supply on the ground and plug it back in. It seemed to work for a few weeks, until you buy a new power cord Don't call Nintendo unless you've got some money. it'll be $82 bucks.

Wii console not working correctly

When you connect to the internet wirelessly and Wii Connect24 your Wii will stay connected and recieve messages, updates, etc. That is why the disk area stays blue and the amber light stays on. Sometimes this will create a power failure. Just unplug your Wii from the wall and let it rest for a few minutes and plug it back in. The problem should be solved.

Wii worked fine yesterday. Will not power up

This is a common problem with the Wii. Considering how often I see this problem, I'm amazed Nintendo didn't address it in their FAQ on the Wii. It happens almost every time there is a power surge or the power goes out, etc.

Even if it's hooked up to a surge protector, this happens. Power comes back on, but the Wii appears dead. It won't turn on, and the LED indicators won't light. If there was a power surge, or the power went out,etc...anything, this will happen. The problem is with the AC adapter, not the Wii itself.

You need to reset the AC adapter to get the Wii to work again. There is a circuit inside the AC adapter that needs to be reset. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall/surge protector outlet. Don't unlpug it from the Wii, it has to be at the outlet. You have to kill power to the adapter.

Unlpug it from the wall/surge protector outlet, and leave it unplugged for 5 or 10minutes. This will kill power to the AC adapter, and give the circuit time to reset. When you plug the adapter back into the outlet after 10 minutes, the red led on the front should be lit up.

I'm very sorry but you can't get it back. I advise not to go in the future at all. The oly reason to travel time is to make Gulliver appear more often. If you do this, go back a couple days
