Hi, The white plastic pushbutton release on my Sunbeam #2366 hand/stand mixer has broken internally (and is now residing inside the mixer body). This mixer is about 6 years old. Does this sound like an expensive repair? A new #2366 retails for about $145.00. Thank you for your time and consideration. Lori
I found a site that says it has replacement stands for 19.95 plus shipping. You can check it out at http://www.bettervac.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SUN%2D84128&cat=293.
Good Luck

It sounds like my mixer, which also is about 5-6 years old, has a similar problem. I have the chrome color version and the stand is actually some kind of hard plastic made to look like metal chrome. The black push button release that holds the mixer to the stand simply fell into the inside of the stand. This happened last Christmas when I got ready to do my baking. At that time, I unscrewed the four screws at the bottom and retrieved the push button and tried to figure out how it was attached. It was a mystery to me but I got it reinserted so that it would at least hold the mixer in place.
Well, I just got the mixer and stand out of the cabinet to do my holiday baking this year and found that the push button had fallen inside the stand again. This time, when I tried to fix it, the little plastic piece where the push button goes inside the stand broke. So, there is no way to make the push button stay in now. This stand is really cheaply made and ill designed. I can't believe they would make a lightweight, plastic base for such a heavy weight mixer. I have a perfectly good working mixer on top and a broken stand which pretty much makes the whole setup useless. I'm not buying another one of these that's for sure.
My problem is that same as previously described, my mixer is 6 yrs old. I unscrewed the base, retrieved the cracked plastic piece. Superglues the crack, when dry put it back in place and it lasted for one round of cake mixing. I'm back to a broekn piece. Am currently searching for a replacement mixer release trigger.
