Gth2548 belt diagram and steering trouble

See attached parts diagram.

Check for wear in sector gear (35) and shoulder bolt (58) or loose shoulder bolt. The sector plate should move laterally with little to none horizontally.

Check that washer (13) is in place between the clip and steering support (22). The diagram is somewhat ambiguous but I believe the washer is above the support but not sure. If you didn't have the shaft out then it's likely in the correct position (above or below).

There is also a bushing just below the steering wheel for upper steering support that may also contribute to the problem.

Possible manual for sale, but may need to call vendor to verify.

check for bent pulleys --blade -brackets

need to replce belt they are burn in spots on the belts

sounds like you are not routing the belt corectly get the owners manual and see if you are routing a pully the wrong way

Go to Searspartsdirect.com and enter the complete Sears model number minus the decimal point. That should bring you to a series of replaceable parts diagrams plus part numbers. If the bolt is not listed as a separate part, then likely it is part of the fuel tank assembly. Hope this helps!

Could be a broken belt, loose belt (stretched) or something is under the mower deck jamming the blades. (stick for an example)
