ASUS R503u take apart, disassemble, how to open disassembly

I am troubleshooting why an ASUS R503u acts like it's not receiving power. I am at the point where I need disassemble and open the plastic coverings. All screws removed but the key pad get stuck on the side directly near the HDMI port and VGA port out. Those ports are probably soldered to the MB but I am removing the top (not the bottom. The bottom is almost one piece of plastic (except for HD and Mem cover). I want to trouble-shoot the power connections and Caps for damage inside the laptop. I have changed PSU and battery to no avail.

When you've removed all screws from bottomside, remove the keyboard from the top following the instructions from this guy. Then unscrew the five or so screws. Pull out the optical drive (if needed) then you're set. :-)

SOURCE: Disassembly: "Pop the top up and raise it ..."

Greenjeans, pull the dryer out and look behind it at the top panel. You'll see 6 screws, 3 in the panel, 3 going into the cabinet. Remove the 3 that go in the cabinet. Then slide the whole top panel back (away from the control panel) about an inch or so then lift it. Replacement is the opposite of removal.
