If you have cable then you should have a remote for the box...use that remote to code in your tv. there should be a list of codes that came with your universal remote and the procedure on how to auto search for the tv code...follow that and you should have it. remember that the tv button only controls the tv,,cable button only controls cable box,,,dvd button only controls dvd player...and so on..
Proscan Tv codes are 1023,1078, 1081,1098, 1134
One of them will work for sure.

Wow it took me a couple hours but hey i found the code ever1 needs and its a 5 digit code for comcast remotes with the red ok button the codes r 10090 or 10030 hope ive helped u out good luck

Thank you. I did solve my problem with some diligence. The instructions from Verizon were correct. I realized that there are two buttons on the Verizon universal remote that look alike - the "play" arrow and the "fast forward" double arrow. Once I used both of these buttons in the proper sequence, reprogramming the TV remote with the new code worked.
