I am not sure what you mean. You computer has a built in software calculator. If your calculator has a USB port and is designed to connect to a computer (the Casio HR-100TE does not seem to have hat capability), you can use it as a numeric keypad. It would have a key to make what you type on the calculator echo on some number handling application like Excel.

I am using Window XP. How to download software that includes a driver to my computer to use my TI-nspire CX ?

In the clamshell or the box the calculator came in, there is a CD. Use it to install the drivers and the TI Nspire Computer Link software. If it came with the TINspire CX student software you can install that too.

After that you can hook the calculator to the computer and run the TI Nspire Computer Link software or the Student/Teacher Software and it it will probe the USB port and find your calculator.

Hello! My Nspire is off and I can not connect it in any way. Is there a malfunction or sequence of keys to someone connects it.

  1. Install the TINspire Link software on your computer. You will find it on the CD that shipped with the calculator or you can download the latest version from education.ti.com Software downloads.
  2. Take the USB mini To USB cable and insert mini jack in calculator USB port and the other (Standard USB) in a USB port of the calculator.
  3. Turn calculator ON.
  4. Run the TI Nspire Computer Link software on your computer. It will search for the calculator and will find it on one USB port.

Calculator won't do basic math operations. Keep getting f(x)=. How do reset it to basic computations?

The computational MODE of your calculator is set to TABLE: It generates a table of values for a function you define in response to the prompt F(X)=?

To get out of TABLE MODE, press MODE and select 1:COMP, and the calculator will revert to the general computational mode.

I cant get the screen to go away from f(x)= and i want the answer to be converted to a decimal answer instead of in fraction form

I believe your calculator is set up to do TABLE computations. In these computations you enter the function for which you want a table generated.
Press [SHIFT][9] to clear/reset the calculator. You should find a CLR marking on calculator near the 9 key.

You can also press [MODE] button and select [COMP], which is the general computational mode.

To have the calculator display all results in decimal format
Press [SHIFT][MODE] to enter (SETUP) and select [2:LineIO]

I would like a battery operated hand held calculator to use in Oregon state testing at the elementary level. Our students take the test on computers so we turn out the lights so the screens are bright and...

I am not sure that you can find good battery operated calculators at this price range. However is as you say the testing is at the elementary level, maybe some cheap calculators found at dollar stores will do the job.
Cheap calculators are often used as promotional items.

Since testing is done on computers what not let the students/applicants use the calculator application that is found the computers. I do not know about Apple products but PC computers have a calculator usually found under Accessories (in Windows XP). If you find a way to dock the calculator application on the screen or show the students how to raise tha calculator window quickly, you will not need to buy additional calculators.
