How to wire an intermatic t174 with a W433-1 TIMER FOR A 220 VOLT MOTOR

Verify that the clock motor is 220v. On the posts where the supply wires (line) and pool motor wires (load) they should each have a post for each of their two wires. If you do not have four posts, this is NOT a 220v timer.

Replaced an old Magnetek century two speed with a AO smith century two speed. Hooked the wires up the same but unable to get the motor to operate in the high speed mode, suggestions!

Each motor will have wiring diagram on label.
Compare diagram on old motor with new motor.

I had an intermatic 220 timer that died. I am trying ti reconect my wires to a replacement timer from GE. The GE is the 208-277 VAC. On the intermatic there was two red wires connected to the second...

Necessary for you to match up terminal numbering with actual numbers for each timer.
Information below is for 240volt timer controlling one single 240Volt load.
GE15601 has terminals L 1 X 2 from left to right
Intermatic T104 Has terminals A 1 2 3 4 from left to right

Here's the crossover from 240Volt T104 Intermatic to 240Volt GE 15601 for single-240Volt-load
Intermatic terminal 1 connects to GE terminal L
Intermatic terminal 2 connects to GE terminal 2
Intermatic terminal 3 connects to GE terminal 1
Intermatic terminal 4 connects to GE terminal X
Intermatic terminal A is not used in typical 2-wire 240volt circuit.

I have a T104R timer and not sure how to wire it. I have 240v supply from breaker box, 2 black wires and both hot. Does it matter which wire goes to the#1 terminal and which one goes to #3 terminal....

Two hot wires from the panel go to "line" and two wires from motor go to "load". See the diagram on the inside of the door. You should consider running the "load" to a 220 wall switch and then to the motor so you can turn it off quickly if necessary without fooling with the timer.

Hi! Please help me. I am having trouble connecting the wires from my dead 220v T104 pool pump timer to a new 220v T104 timer. The old timer had posts marked G 1 2 3 4. The new one has posts marked L 1 X...

Open following link for T104 wiring diagram:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html

Your new timer is L 1 X 2, so that is not Intermatic T104.
You might have GE/Tork 15061 that fits into Intermatic box.
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#GE-replacement
First thing to check is if new timer is 240Volts to match old T104.

If new timer is 240V, then here is crossover:
"Old 1" goes to new L >> and notice that L and 1 are connected by brass bridge. If bridge is missing, add a jumper wire between L and 1 on new timer

"Old 2" goes to new 2

"Old 3" goes to new X
"Old 4" goes to new X

T104 Intermatic timer is SPDT single pull double throw, so it turns off both wires going to Load.
New L1X2 timer is SPST single pull single throw, so it turns off one wire going to Load, and that's why old 3 and old 4 both connect to terminal X.

If this is too complex, then add a comment or buy new trippers and a new WG1573 clock motor and repair T104 for $20.

How do I connect my 2 speed pool motor?

1) You might need a different timer.
240Volt T106 has one NO terminal and one NC terminal.
http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/t106r%20-%20english.ashx

2) Terminal 1 is NC terminal
NC terminal is 'normally closed' so electricity flows continually through this terminal.
For example you can connect this terminal to speed-1.
So speed-1 is on until timer turns on, and then electricity is turned off to NC terminal and speed-1 stops.

3) Terminal 4 is NO terminal
NO terminal is 'normally open' so electricity flows through this terminal only when timer turns on.
For example you can connect this terminal to speed-2.
So NO terminal only has power when timer turns on.
When timer turns off, NO terminal turns off and NC terminal turns on again.

4) As you can see, the problem with T106 timer is that pool motor is continually running.
Either speed-1 is on, or speed-2 is on.

5) Here's how to wire T106 for 240V two-speed pump:
Two hot wires arrive from breaker box: 1 black wire and 1 white wire.
White connects to terminal A
Black connects to terminal 3.
Three wires go to motor.
Speed-1 connects to terminal 1 probably black wire
Speed-2 connects to terminal 2 probably red wire
Remaining motor wire connects to terminal A probably white wire
Ground wires connect to green ground screw.

6) Usually, 2-speed pool pumps are wired to dual timer like T10404R
So each speed is wired to a separate timer.
With this timer, each speed is connected to separate timer, and then the pump can be turned off when neither speed is needed.
http://www.amazon.com/Intermatic-2-Speed-Timer-208-277-T10404R/dp/B002UBPCDW/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hi_1

7) However there is a newer electronic timer P1353ME and P1353ME-6 and PE153 that can control 3 different loads. This timer snaps into any T106 box.
For example speed-1 is one load, speed-2 is another load, and a pool light can be third load, or simply do not use third load.

http://1000bulbs.com/product/3352/ELEC-PE153.html

8) I am familiar with wiring and programming for P1353 timer, and you can post again on fixya, and I will catch the question.

Which wires goes to which post ? Just bought an ao smith 3/4 hp booster motor for my polaris pool cleaner. It has two yellow wire posts. Which do I conect the black and white wires to?

It does not matter. Just make sure it is set to the correct voltage your system supplies to it and that you put pne wire on each terminal as the diagram on the side of the motor will show you.
