Need google maps icon on my desktop

Why does Google maps stop working? Clear the app cache. It may be the case that your app's cache data needs to be cleared. Go to Settings > Applications > Google Maps, then tap Clear Cache to solve the problem.

If you have installed Google Chome and need to add it to the desktop as a shortcut, you would want to do the following:
1. in the search box type in Google Chrome and the Icon will appear.
2. Then you want to hover over it and right-click to open a control menu.
3. There will be an option that says "send to" and it has the option to send it to your desktop as a shortcut.
For Macs, you will simply search in finder "Google Chrome" and drag it to your desktop.

If you can't find it at all here is the link to download Google Chrome. During the installation, it will ask you if you want to create a shortcut to your desktop.

Two options that I know of:

1. Google Maps ( you will need to go to the Store and download Google Maps App if you don't already have it installed on your phone. It's icon looks like this: )

Use Google Maps to go to that location. Here are their instructions: Download areas and navigate offline Basically the instructions say:

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
2. Make sure you're connected to the internet and signed in to Google Maps.
3. Search for a place, like San Francisco.
4. At the bottom, tap the name or address of the place Download . If you searched for a place like a restaurant, tap More Download offline map.

2. If you happen to be looking at a picture of a map that is just an image or a photo, you will need to have the image on your screen, then tap it and select Save As. To view it on your phone/tablet open your Gallery, and view the downloads folder.

If you mean you now have a name at the bottom line on the screen (same line as where your clock and start button appear), then this is the Task Bar. Hold the left mouse button down on the item to be removed, and then drag the item onto the main desktop area. Then release the button, now try to delete it again.

well, there is no GPS on that model. and the only way to get any applications on your phone is to add them with a WAP uploader. So you need to download to .jar file for google maps onto your computer and then use the wap uploader (just type that in google and you will find one) to upload your file onto your phone. good luck.

I had the same problem as yours. Here's how I solved it. First you'll need to download the blackberry software from sasktel website. Just google it and you'll find it. Once you've downloaded it here's what to do:

1. Download the latest firmware to your PC
2. Install the firmware onto your PC that is running BlackBerry Desktop Manager
3. Go to c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader and delete the vendor.xml file. If you are using Desktop Manager 4.7 or higher you must also disconnect your PC from the internet.
4. Connect your device and open Desktop Manager
5. When prompted select "Upgrade Now" (If you are not prompted select Applications Loader > Update)
6. Follow the prompts and your device will be upgraded.

This solved my problem and my browser is running perfectly well on wifi.

In Map Setup page, scroll over to blue 'ball' icon (second from right), press lower left button on side of GPS unit, use Thumb switch to scroll down to "Show None", click Thumb switch in. All maps will disappear. Press lower left button on side of GPS unit again, scroll down to "Show Topo.....", click Thumb switch in. Your Topo maps should now show onscreen.

The reason your Topo map might not have shown is because, if you leave the Navigator map showing, and then just press "Show Topo", the layer showing Topo will still be under the Navigator map. This is why I always tell it to show none, and then load whatever map I need to see onto a bare screen.

This problem is due to the memory card not containing the TomTom application or map. To update the application onto the memory card

• Connect the device to your computer.
• Open the TomTom Home application.
• Click on 'Update My Device'.

This should then install the application onto the SD card. Alternativly, you could perform all the steps above without the SD card in the device, this will install the application onto the internal memory. Note: you may also need to install your maps, voices, etc after you updat.

It has been my experience that messages like these are really spyware programs the redirect you to their websites to purchase their junk. I would recommend running through you program listings (Add/Remove Software)and removing anything you don't absolutely need or don't know of. Google maps is a javascript application, so anything loading a javascript library that isn't from Sun Microsystems is probably suspect. Look for anything with java or jscript in the name, or, anything that doesnt have a description. Most are toolbar apps or search engines. Your Antivirus might pick it up as spyware and might not. So a thorough spyware check is heavily recommended.
