Bought my Maytag range January 2011, so it's not very old. Two night ago I started to cook dinner, turned the oven on to preheat, and started to boil some water. I know that the burner was starting to get hot. Maybe 2 minutes later I noticed a weird smell, almost like a burnt rubber type smell. I opened the oven to check and it wasn't coming from there. The smell went away quickly but then I realized the burner had stopped getting hot and the oven would not heat higher then 215 degrees. What's going on?

Noise went away by itself. No root cause found. Please remove this posting, thanks.

Good Morning Fern mullen, I appreciate your post!
Based off what you have described your burners are no longer working on your Frigidaire range. This could be an issue with your control panel or the switch. I would recommend performing a reset on your range and you can do that by disconnecting power from the range for at least ten minutes. If that does not help correct your issue I would suggest having a technician out to your home for a proper diagnosis and repair. Best of luck! -Matt
