What wiring to use to connect our RJ45 connectors for computer

I'm wanting to use these to connect our ethernet using RJ-45 connectors. We use the B configuration for our network cat 5e cables - what wiring to use in the RJ45 surface mount jacks? We use the white/org org white/grn blue white/blue green white/brown brown so what do I connect each of these colors to in the jack?

The order you give is right. Ethernet uses the orange pair and the green pair (1, 2, 3, 6). Phone uses the blue pair (4, 5).

I want to connect a CAT5e Ethernet cable (with or without a RJ45 connector) from a DSL router to an older computer that only has a RJ11 input. This will be used for DSL internet service only -- no...

The only "outputs" from a DSL-router are:
* RJ-11 telephone-jack, only if the router also supports voice-over-IP,
* RJ-45 Ethernet port (always present)

You need to purchase an internal network-card, to create an RJ-45 port on the computer, and then use the CAT-5e cable to make the connection.

How di I terminate the QVS Cat6 RJ 45 plugs?

terminating a RJ 45 plug means to put a RJ 45 plug on the end of a suitable cable. This is done by making up a si\uitable cable and skinning the tips of the cable and inserting them in the right order to the plug and then using a special RJ 45 crimper mashing a plastic plug down on the wires. You can purchase such an arrangement from an electronics supplier.

T636400000 does it have an ethernet card built in the unit?

You are probably looking at a RJ-11, used for telephone (dial up - modem). You are trying to put a RJ-45 connector in it.

The RJ-45 should have 8 wires while the RJ-11 may have as many as 6 connectors.

Thank you for your voluntary work with this organization.

Note: If you were to plug a RJ-11 into a RJ-45 port and if it happened that you plugged the other end of the phone cord (RJ-11) into a phone jack --- and the phone were to ring ... you would be pumping 60 volts into your computer. Be very careful with these connections. You would then need butter and jelly for your toast, which is what your computer would be.

Ok - recap: Both look very similar ...

Ethernet = 8 conductors - RJ-45

Telephone = up to 6 wires (may be 2 or 4 also) - RJ-11. NOT interchangable.

So how will you connect? If the laptop is not builltin wireless, you can get a PCMIA card for the slot on the side that will allow wireless or ethernet. Get the card at your computer store. ... Or ... use the built in modem for dialup., You would of course need a dialup account somewhere.

Plz explain me exactly for which purpose RJ-45 cable used ?

RJ -45 is a type of connector used on cat5, cat5e....etc cables to connect networked devices...the RJ stands for registered jack but there is really not much you really need to know about it....a RJ 45 JACK is a little bigger than a telephone jack, you'll notice the female type of input on your computer or laptop and the male end will be on the end of the cable that goes into this jack....hope this helps

Wiring on a RCA RJ-45 wall jack

the RJ45 wallplate is not meant for ethernet. It's an 8P8C connector for a phone. Will it work as a network jack? Maybe. I wouldn't use it, but if you really want to try, wire it thusly:

1 Blue --- Orange/White
2 Orange --- Orange
3 Black --- Green/White
4 Red --- Blue
5 Green --- Blue/White
6 Yellow --- Green
7 Brown --- Brown/White
8 White --- Brown

I'd still recommend a CAT5 wallplate with a CAT5 jack.

How to connect 2 PC at a time one of the PC has internet connection i want to communicate both PC I have windows XP sp2?

You can use hub for that matter. Use RJ-45 Cables (Crossover) for connecting just two computers and connect each unit with the cable inserted from your cpu to the hub. To create an RJ45 local area network in Windows, you will need: Several computers running Windows (computers running two different versions of Windows can be part of the same network);
Ethernet cards on a PCI or ISA port (with an RJ45 plug) or built into the motherboard. When applicable, make sure the diodes on the back of the network card light up when the computer is on and that a cable is plugged in.

Dont know how to hook up cat5e cable to a leviton cat5e jack

Those two jacks are telephone jacks (RJ-11) not ethernet (RJ-45). The jack marked telephone is for a phone, and the jack with a rectangle symbol is for the telephone line into the wall.

You need to buy an ethernet PCI card - without one you can not use a cat5e line (which has an RJ45 connection).

Just use 568-B or 568-A on both ends of the same cable.
