Disconnect the hose where it goes into the base and see if you have suction there.if you don't then your intake hose is clogged.thats the hose that your long stretch hose connects to.take a coat hanger and bend the tip so the end is rounded.work it down into the intake hose at the bottom and try to push the clog out through the bottom.make sure your filters are clean and the bag isn't full. please leave feedback

No suction

hey, how are you ?

here are a ew things that could be causing you sorrow

1.) Check your vacume to ensure that it isnt clogged anywhere

2.) before your compressor and after the filer, this part is where the suction takes place, check to see that it isnt clogged or that it isnt broken...

3.) check your packing (diapharam) in the vacume oto see if it ruptured(has a hole or broken)

4.) Check for lears on the vacume, basically run a pice of paper all over it and see if it is pulled to the vacume.

Once air is coming out the back, it means the compressor is working, but it alos means that the vacume is clogged, or a compartment that is u\supposed to be sealed is broken, or it has a leak somewhere..

My bet is that it is clogged somewhere, take it apart you will find it..

The brush is clean and spinning but it isnt picking up anything and just pushing pet hair around.

You mentioned pet hair. Remove the brush cover and check for a plug (possibly pet hair). Sounds as though you have a plug somewhere and it's not allow the suction to pull it through. Also check your filter and clean or replace as necessary. Hint; Never let you container get over half full, it reduces the suction.

Suction from hose isnt strong enough. Vacuum

There is probably a clog on the U channel (little Gray tube that attaches to the Vac tubing). Pull it loose and look in side all the tubing.

The motor is running, the roller brush spinning rubber smell

Sounds like the main suction pipe is blocked.
Unplug, and in good light - see if you can see any obstructions in the pipe from the prush area to the bag (in a bagless vacuum) or to the fan in a bag model.

Dyson suction loss

make sure the filters in the bottom are clean, then remove the canister and you will need to clean it thouroughly, pay close attention to the upper section inside where the "cones" come togetheri have read that they are prone to clog up here and lose suction, google dyson suction loss or how to clean a dyson ect...pay attention to getting the rod that releases the bottom to dump back in the correct place or it will not work right. a few write ups tell about this!

Kirby G4 without suction

change your belt, if there is suction from the hose, and you cant see any blockages in the area where the brush roll is then you need to change the belt, even if it isnt broken. putting your hand over the nozzle to feel the suction is not the way to tell if it has suction.

Suction

absolutely all the air in a vacuum would pass through the filter and if its clogged badly you could loose all your suction and if the belt is more than a year old then replace it even if it isnt broken ( they stretch out over time )
