I have a Zenith Rear Projection tv. The Picture is good but there is a sideways hourglass on the screen. Can you tell me what causes this and how I can fix it.

Sounds like a loose solder connection on the Convergence board or the convergence power board. If you are savvy and electrically safe, tap on the boards with an insulated screwdriver to see which has the loose connection, and you can resolder to fix. Repair from a service center = $150-300
If there is a hour glass shape to the image but convergence is normal, there are 2 possibilities. You either have a pincushion correction problem or if the hour glass seems to be moving, it will be an open filter capacitor in the power supply.
Unless you are electronically inclined troubleshooting this issue will require a factory trained service technician. You can expect to spend $300-$400 to fix this.
replace the convergence ICs STK392-120 you will need both of them also check the 6.8 ohm resistors right next to the ICs as often 1 or 2 of them burn open. You should be able to notice the discoloration in the center of the resistors.
The link you posted has been deleted, so I cannot see the picture you posted. If the sides bow in like an hourglass and the red, green and blue colors are still aligned then there is a horizontal width or pincussion problem, but if the sides bow in and the 3 colors have separated and are no longer anywhere near aligned then you have a convergence problem, both of which should be serviced by someone with experience in servicing projection TV's.
impossible to tell with just this information, have seen bulb cause no picture with these, usually if you remove it is easy to check as will have broken glass as the lamp pops.
If the hour glass figure is a seperation of colors that appear to be convegence mis aligned, then, the convergence ICs would be the problem.
If the picture is clear and you have a bending on the sides then the pincusion circuit in the horizontal circuit is where to look. Be careful of this circuit, it does control the high voltage.
The only way to have a board checked is to have an Authorized Service Center look at it.
It does, however, sound like there is a cold solder joint in the power supply that has gradually opened up and now is permanantly open.
Call Zenith (LG) to see who they recommend.
