My ipad4 has my old last name as Facebook login so my password no longer works only on my iPad

Try to login from another device(phone, computer, different tablet) if you select "forgot password", depending on the version of the Facebook app, it may allow you login just by tapping a button that will pop up on the ipad if the account is actually still logged in. If logged in this way, go to "account settings" and change your password to something you will remember. If this doesn't work and you remember the password to the email you used for Facebook, try going to Facebook.com on the Safari browser or a browser on another device and select the "forgot password" link. Facebook will offer another option to send a link to that email to change the password for your Facebook. After changing the password, un-install the Facebook app through your settings and reinstall it by searching for Facebook in the iTunes store. Enter your login info and you are all set.

If you are being blocked then it is likely that you are not entering the login details that Facebook is expecting, whether they have been satisfactory in the past or not.You could try this, go to the login page here:,

just under where you input your password you can click on "forgotten password". This takes you to a page where it says "find my account" where you can enter "Email, Phone, Username or Full Name". Try entering one of these (My email gave the best result for me) and follow through the instructions to reset your password so that you can access your account.
If this does not work there are a number of options here depending upon what you have lost, ie you can't log in, your facebook page has been locked and you can't change it, or it no longer appears to exist. I could go through them all but it has already been done here:

Point your web browser at http://www.facebook.com

If another account comes up, log out of it by clicking the little down arrow in the upper-right then clicking "Log Out."

If you then still can't log in to your account, click the "Forgot your password?" link located just below the password box on the login page.

How to Retrieve Forgotten Facebook Username Login

There is a misunderstanding about FIXYA volunteers.
We don't have any connection to Facebook, and do not send codes or passwords. I have put a link above to Facebook that is supposed to let you enter enough information to obtain your login name, and login in to Facebook.

Login to Facebook from the "old" computer.
Change your password for your ID.

Go to the new computer.
Access Facebook.
Enter your ID, and your newly-updated password.

How long ago did you deactivate your old account? If it's been less than two weeks, you can login again to your old account (using old username/email and password) and it will reactivate your account.
If it's been longer than two weeks, all you need to do on the new account you created (under Joel Lazenby), is change your name to Wayne Lazenby.
To change your name on Facebook, follow these instructions:
1. login to facebook 2. click "account" in the upper right corner 3. in the dropdown menu select "account settings" 4. you'll see "change" next to the "name" category.
Just change your name and verify and you're done!
