Kipor generator P-05 error

Hi there I have a diesel kipor generator and it gave me error code p-05. Only a week ago it was running fine and nothing changed between then and now. On the owners manual it says that it can be the starter motor, but my generator is still relatively new. Can it be a fuse or something else that is relatively obvious? Regards Markus

Thank you for your responses so far. It is a KDE19STA model. I have now checked all the fuses (all fine) and the oil level (also fine). On the underloading comment, I tried to put more load on it but it still does not want to start. After several attempts to start is, it suddenly moved (started to start for a split second, engine moved). Now every +- 5th attemp does the same? My first thought was that the battery does not have enough power to start the engine? Can this be true or what else can be the problem? Can I just use my car's battery as a test?

Hi,
I just guessing here but it could mean that the oil pressure is too low.
I'd check the oil level first, then look for the oil pressure switch and temporarily disconnect it.

You may be UNDERLOADING the generator and it may be unstable with such a light load... see if it might behave running a heavier load... put a 100 watt light on it as a test,

I HAVE A KIPOR 7000 TD generator suddenly stops and shows E-04

Hi,

Usually when errors come up, you can reference the product manual to find out the specific meaning of your error. So, please do this first. If you don't have the manual, please call the manufacturer of your product (ie Kipor) in order to gain information of the meaning. In the mean time, I would advise to shut down the generator or at least use a air volatility detector until you determine the meaning of the error.

My Kipor 6500T Diesel generator runs but produces no power. what could be the problem. Am told there was an overload they connected a cooker.

Why unit keeps shutting down after it starts.

Your question is general without specific details. Any one of many things will cause your generator engine to stop running.

Is this question about a Kipor KDE5000TA? If so, your generator is powered by a diesel engine. There are safety shut downs built into the generator to protect the generator head and engine. Do you have any fault codes showing on your control panel display screen? (Trouble codes P-01 through P-05 will be displayed if there's a detected fault)

If you have no fault codes, then you likely have a fuel problem. Do the obvious:

Visually check the fuel level in your tank. DO NOT rely on your fuel gauge. It may be stuck or otherwise not working.
If you have fuel, check your fuel filter. It may be clogged. If your fuel filter is good, you may have water contamination.
Drain your tank and refill with fresh #2 diesel fuel. I use "Diesel 911" with a biocide to prevent water contamination and bacteria growth in my fuel.
Make certain your fuel oil supply and return lines are clear, not leaking, and the fittings are tight.
