Can not connect to a laptop

Could be the laptop needs a driver installing for it to work.

Conventional bluetooth and wireless needs a 2-way signal so the item you want to connect will appear in the laptop wireless and bluetooth menus and you can click on it and enter a password or pin number.
If the headphones don't appear in the menus you won;t be able to connect them. In that case you should refer to the headphone instruction manual.

Bluetooth & sound

Generally, connecting phones via bluetooth to a laptop just allows for file transfer between the two devices. It is not to input sound from the phone through the speakers of the laptop. You would need a bluetooth audio device for that such as bluetooth speakers or headphones

It may be something in your control panel that you have to adjust or change the settings on. Not sure what you have for a laptop but it will be in the listening or sound portion of your computer.

How to fix headphone jack on a toshiba satellite pro l450d-12x laptop ill play music out load on the laptop speakers and ill be able to hear the sound , but as soon as i plug my headphones into the jak...

In my experience, you have to open up the laptop and see if the stereo jack can be seen openly or if it is enclosed in a solid plastic block.
If it is open, you can usually bend the leads back into place where the negative will get in better contact and make the connection to the headphone.
It it is enclosed, you'll have to remove and replace it with a little soldering of a few small connections to the motherboard. You can find a replacement online pretty inexpensively in most cases.
This is a simple repair n both cases but getting the laptop open is what takes the most time.

Another solution is to get some bluetooth speakers or bluetooth headphones and add a USB bluetooth adapter if it doesn't have bluetooth.
Another way is to open up the laptop, take out your wireless card and replace it with a combo wifi/bluetooth card. You can get these often for under $15 and you'll need to buy the antenna too (Black is wifi white is BT) for few bucks. Make sure you get the same type of card (mini PCIe, M.2, etc) and the side benefit is that you might get a faster wifi at the same time.

Motorola S805 headset worked fine with T60 laptop

Solution I found with the same devices is to properly par the devices.

Refer http://direct.motorola.com/ens/s805/QuickstartGuide.pdf

It basically states :

1.Ensure the headphones are turned off (L indicator light not blinking).
2.Press and hold L button. After about 6 seconds, the L indicator light becomes steadily lit.
3.Release the L button. The L indicator light remains steadily lit.

If the L indicator light is flashing or not steadily lit, repeat steps 1 through 3

Now on the T60:

Search for Bluetooth Devices as you would normally.
The T60 lists Bluetooth devices it finds.
Select Motorola S805.
Select OK or Yes to pair your headphones
with your phone.
Enter the passkey: 0000
Select OK.
When your headphones successfully pair
with your phone, the L indicator light
changes from steadily lit to rapidly flashing.

That's it next time you start a audio program on T60 output will be sent to Motorola Headphones

It always flip light

Hi,
If you have lost the pairing on your phone with the headset follow these simple steps below:
• Setting the headset into pairing mode
1) Ensure the headset is fully charged
2) The headset must be switch off
3) Press and hold the on button for +- 8 seconds until the light flashes red-blue
4) The headset is now in pairing mode
• Searching for the headset on the phone
1) Go to “settings” or “connections”
2) Select Bluetooth, then options
3) Select Devices and click add
4) The phone should search for any available Bluetooth devices and display what was found
5) Select the Motorola device and click add
6) You will be required to enter in a pass code which is standard ‘0000’.
7) If successful then the headset will start flashing BLUE every few seconds.
8) If it’s a Samsung or Nokia phone you will need to “AUTHORIZE” headset on the device.
• The headset is now paired with the phone

Hope this helps

Bluetooth headset won't connect in Vista

I had a similar problem. First part of the solution is to disable the headset profile for the headphones. These headphones can't handle both headset and headphone profiles at the same time. Second part of the solution is to make sure that your headphones are on when you activate bluetooth on the computer. For some reason, Vista doesn't like setting up the initial connection on-the-go, so it will just act like its connected and move on. Hope this helps!

I am trying to setup my bluetooth headphones and they did not come with instructions. I just need to know how to put them into discovery mode.

I bought one myself, I have a Vista OS, non-integrated bluetooth laptop.. I had to pop in the USB dongle for capabilities....Still cant get the Mic to work though...so if anyone knows anything on that....I went to HP live chat session too.

BUT HERES THE MODES YOU MAY NEED TO PUT IT IN...
Searchable/Discovery- Hold down the power button about 6-7 secs and it will sound a few short low beeps and flash between Red and Blue, then search 8)
Erase Pairing Profiles- Press and hold the Track forward/track backward Button together until it flashes purple.
Hardware reset- if headset is screwy, froze up, LED display is incorrect...Plug in headset, and hold down bothh Volume buttons, this will power it down and reset its state of confusion, lol
Passkey is always '0000' by default
2-short Hi beeps....Connected
2- short low beeps....pairing mode also
1 long Hi beep.....Power On/Off
1 long low beep....lost Connection

Hope that helps... merry christmas

No sound from pc after disconnecting from headset

Open up the Sounds and Audio Devices control panel, hit the 'audio' tab and make sure that the default playback device is not the bluetooth phones, but rather you sound card.
