I have built a new PC from an emachines 370. When I tested it, i lost all the sound. Do i need a sound card?

Most likely your problems is related to driver, especially sound driver. To double check if all the drivers is installed properly, go to: Computer > Right Click > Then select Manage > In the drop down menu on the left choose "Device Manager"

It should show what driver is installed and not yet installed. Do look up your driver at Emachines website for any download. After all driver is installed do reboot the computer.

Down load the best driver for your sound card and install it.
You may need to re-start your computer at this point.

Compatible sound card for el1200

This model only has 1 PCI express 1x slot. So any sound card that uses a PCIe 1x slot. Just google "audio card pcie 1x". This computer has built-in sound so not sure why you want another card.

I lost my installation disk and need to update my sound driver. how do I get a new one for my pc?

what make is your pc and what is the sound card make you can do the following for windows xp go to start>right click my computer>click properties>click hardware tab>then click device manager >scroll down until you see the sound driver icon see what make it is right click and hit update my driver or go to manufactuers website to downlaod it hope this helps

How do i get my webcam working its built in the laptop

try testting on MSN, or Live Chat, u need to go on MSN tools and config Audio/Video settings, to enable mic and webcam (check 1st for webcam and sound card drivers is installed)

One beep at startup - System does not bootup

You have what sounds like a RAM problem. Try known good RAM as a test. If it still fails, remove add on cards except video. Make sure that video card works. If it still fails to boot. Replace motherboard.

open up the case look on the motherboard for speaker, sound, pitchure that looks like 1 speaker
