Doesnt startup,but rather displays "A disk read error occurred.Press Ctrl+Alt+Del",it does that again and again

Doesnt startup,after booting displays "A disk read error occurred.Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart" and recurrs even after restarting.

Maybe a usb device plugged? if not try in bios\boot sequence to set cdrom - hd - usbdev. then try to boot with the puppy sturdust linux cd. if it work is just the internal hd; format it and reinstall. hope it help bye

Have you checked your bios to see what the system is configured to boot from first? Make sure your hard drive is the first boot device in the list.

Most likely the hard drive is failing, run diagnostics on the hard drive if you have a resource CD. Or you can download them from support.dell.com

Keep getting a read disk error occured on startup and it says press ctrl alt del to restart but the same thing happens again.

Try re-seating your hard drive, removing and putting back in again. Make sure that your hard drive is the first boot in the order from the BIOS.

Try presing F9 whilst booting(every other boot) to take you to factory restore pages select system recovery or discscan then press "E" then"B" etc and reset OS
