Are you talking about wireless connection to the router? The pop up is your computer desktop?

Hello, Yolie312000 -

I believe you will need to have an AT&T (AT&T Uverse?) technician scheduled to come to your home to check on your WiFi connection.
.
We have AT&T Uverse for our Internet service provider and experienced WiFi speed slowdown a couple of years ago. We telephoned the AT&T service number, spoke with an AT&T Customer Service Representative for technical issues. He scheduled a repair technician who solved our problems.

You will need your account number and PIN when you speak with the Customer Service Representative.

This is the number to call: 800-288-2020.

Best wishes.

SOURCE: cable modem + dlink router

Your modem needs to be rebooted in order for your router to pull an IP from the modem. To do this, look for a little hole in the back of your modem and use a pen to push the button. Wait for the reboot to finish and then try again in about 20 seconds.

SOURCE: My pc won't connect to the internet

It is the MAC address that needs to be scrubbed from the modem.

power off the desktop, power off the modem, unplug the data cable from the modem, unplug the POWER connection to the modem.

WAIT 3 MINUTES

Connect power to modem, let it reset
Connect data cable to Modem
power on computer

Modem should now connect & work with desktop.

Each time you switch between systems, you may have to do this. More than enough to make me buy a router. =)

Please rate the post. =)

SOURCE: cannot make a wireless connectiio work with Comcast internet

- Once you already configured the settings on your router, and 2nd step that you do now is to power cycle the modem and the router completely for about a minute.
Note:
- You must also remove the battery back up of your cable modem in order to refresh the settings on it.
- After the power cycling procedure, turn On 1st the modem and make sure all the link lights on your modem are completely stable before you turn On the router.

Telephone ATT, and ask for "Technical Support". After all, you're paying them, every month, to get DSL service from them. Make them EARN their money, for this month.

All lights are green on my DSL modem except the internet light which is solid red. I called AT&T for help ( My modem was a brand new combination router/modem from Netgear with wireless N) and after a...

If you have ATT DSL they should be supplying the DSl Modem. Unfortunately they supply Motorola 2210's, which systematically burn out due to overheating. The symptom is that the DSL blinnks, but the other lights to the right of that will not come on. That means it is sending requests to the network for service, but the receiving section is unable to receive the reply.

I am on my 3rd 2210 in 3 months. ATT do replace them free, but they really need to switch to a different manufacturer.

I unhooked computer to paint walls. Now

I think you must be just unlucky.

I think the reset button just resets the wireless internet but I am not certain about that.

Usually when a router loses it's memory it needs a call to the internet service provider who will get inside it and reset the addresses and check the connections and so forth. This is usually necessary even if you own your own router rather than having one provided by the ISP.

Diagnostics says the router isn't connected to the internet so maybe that is the truth and the problem - coincidences do happen and maybe there is a fault somewhere on the line and it needs reporting to ISP so they can check it or get it checked.

It could be worth double-checking the connections and leads first. I recently had trouble with a phone that worked only when it felt like it. The trouble was a couple if pins in the master socket had gone green and was failing to make contact with the phone plug some of the time.

Setting up a small network using DSL and a DLink router

1.) The setup needs changing
2.) first off the dss-24 is a network switch not a router
3.) all of your pc equipment should be pluged into that device.
4.) chose one port as an uplink to your att modem
I think your problem is that the new modem is only giving out one ip address. So what ever first pc is turned on that is the one that grabs the address.
5.) you will most likly need a router to take the one ip address assigned via att then dole out additional ones. Remember the dss-24 is not a router. It simply connects everyone together. Each device still needs an ip address given from somewhere. Your old cable modem probibly did that but your new att dsl most likly does not.hence the new router will do that.....
to set it up do the following
2.) Find out the ip setup needed for your dsl service
A.) gateway ip
B.) primary & secondary dns server ip`s
C.) subnet mask
3.) get into the setup of your new router and then plugg in
all of these values using a fixed if address in the router
4.) connect routers wan port to one of the modems port. u may have to use a cross cable or straight look at the link lites to find out if they are talking to each other
5.) make sure that the routers lan side is setup for DHCP
6.) connect one lan port off the router to an uplink
of the dss-24. Then reboot everything
7.) viola it should all work internet on evey machine and file sharring.

One thing you can do.
Try to download an updated firmware for from the manufacturer of the DSL modem.
In most of the cases this will resolve the issue that you are describing.
Lastly I would suggest to buy new one if it stills does not work

Netopia 3347 boots me off Interent

Hi! I will be more than glad to assist u in this concern..the modem wont talk to the router bcoz the router is not properly setup.. if you are using a cable modem from ur cable company provider- u need to do a mac clone on the router u have to clone the mac address of ur computer. normaly the mac of ur computer is the one register to your cable company and on the setup page of the router just selct on the internet setup, dhcp after clonning the mac address of your computer. u need to connect ur computer directly to the router and then after doing the process connect the router to the modem. if u are using a username and password, u have to use the pppoe settings on the router, if ur isp set a static ip , set it up to the router, to check the ip setting of your isp.. connect the computer directly to the modem and check if u have internet.. then click on start, run and type cmd,it will give u a dos prompt and from there type ipconfig/all and it will show u the ip address, subnetmask, default gateway, dns server.. I hope this will solve ur concern..

Recently I subscribed ATT DSL Service conflict IP Address

the motorola modem that att is using uses 192.168.1.x subnet. log onto your router and change it to 192.168.b.x where b is any number between 2 and 254 (just not 1). You should also log onto the modem and change the setting that allows it to share the external ip address with the router. You will need to do this if you plan on accessing your network from the internet.

Cannot maintain wireless connection

Try manually add the network. If the problems continue, I would turn the laptop in for repair/replacement (if it under warranty).
