Transmission not working

This is most likely the transmission causing the problem.

try disconnecting cable to transmission turn the shifter on transmission manually down there connect cable again start car try it if not try it again turn once then connect cable again then try it if not the transmission is not good

I am sorry but you have a failed transmission on your hands, no other explanation fro this symptom.

Low transmission fluid can cause this. Check the fluid with the vehicle running in Park or Neutral. Make sure to block the wheels and use the emergency brake for safety.
If it is not transmission fluid you could have a transmission problem. They commonly do this but there doesn't seem to be a recall on it.
Check the transmission fluid before you do anything else.

The 5 speed manual transmission in your Focus doesn't have a Dipstick, the fluid level is checked by going under the car and removing a fill plug on the side of the transmission case, you then stick your pinkie in the hole and if you can just touch the transmission lube the level is correct. No Ford except automatic transmission models has dipsticks, and even those have been eliminated on the latest models.

if the fluid is to low it will not engage

Start with simply changing filter and fluid for transmission. If that doesn,t work go to your local parts place and scan the codes on your vehicle. I have the same problem and that is what I am doing.

TRANSAXLE COOLING
The fan and cooling fins of transmission should be kept
clean to assure proper cooling.
Do not attempt to clean fan or transmission while engine is
running or while the transmission is hot. To prevent
possible damage to seals, no not use high pressure water
or steam to clean transaxle.

TRANSAXLE PUMP FLUID
The transaxle was sealed at the factory and fluid maintenance
is not required for the life of the transaxle. Should
the transaxle ever leak or require servicing, contact your
nearest authorized service center/department.

hi you need the seals replacing in the box when they are cold the become hard as they warm up they start to do what there are suppose to yates210456

Both cars were made by Isuzu, despite what bob a says, and they seem to be the same model, just re-badged. I can't guarantee it, but it seems like if both cars had the same motor, and the model # of the trans is the same, it should work. Try to look at them side by side real carefully if you can, to check for any differences that may have been made for different model years.
