sandisk sansa mp3 1gb model clip is not recognising by my computer.

My daughter's M250 has the same problem. The songs can be played but not recognized by a computer (3 differant ones), so they can't be deleted. Hidden and system files are turned on in folder options, that doesn't help. Neither did changing the USB settings.

Download a firmware upgrade from Sansa's homepage. It worked for me. Now I can see my files.
Good Luck!

First, this may not be necessary but, go to the control panel, folder options, under the View tab make sure that it is set to show hidden files and folders.
If that didn't work (it probably didn't), try changing the USB setting on your mp3 player. You do this in the settings menu of your player and change whatever USB is set to to the other option. Then see if you can see your songs. That's all I can think of... hope it works.

How to delete from playlist/mic

Hi
Generally speaking, when you connect an mP3 player to a computer via USB then the storage capability usually shows up in file explorer (My Computer) as an extra drive of some description (often "removable drive"). Its a good idea to have My computer open and showing your drives when you plug the USB cable in, because then you will see the USB drive added to the list and recognise a new drive letter.
Having got a drive letter for your mP3 player you can then scroll through the folders and files on the mP3 player just as if it were a drive in the computer, and hence copy, move and delete files as on the computer. Particularly with an mP3 player with relatively limited capacity, this means that you can change the tracks on it regularly from a larger library on the computer.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

How do i add new songs to my mp3 player

Hi ralph,
When you want to add new mp3 songs to your player, connect the device using the provided cable to the USB port of your computer. The Walkman should up in your My Computer, either as a USB device or directly as a media player. You can then enter the device through My computer, find the folder marked "Music" or something similar, and then copy-paste the desired music files into that Folder. After you disconnect the device properly after this operation, you should be able to listen to the songs.

Computer doesn't recognize MP3 player -

Check My Computer. If the PC recognises the Sansa player then simply add the songs by dragging the files into the player's icon on My Computer. Sometimes this kick starts the built in software included on the mp3 player.

Computer Won't Recognise MP3

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
-----
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx
