When the blower goes on, it makes a loud viberating banging sound that we never had before the tech came out for his annual service check. They came back and all he did was LISTEN, and told me that it

We have our unit for 5 yrs and never had a problem until the service tech came out to do a annual service check. When he left, the unit went on and we heard this loud banging, vibrating sound. We called them back and they sent another tech and all he did was walk around the unit and LISTEN, and then told me that is was the blower wheel. Then I get a call a few hours later from the customer service and he tells me that they had to replace 10 blower wheels in one week. Could there be something else that could cause this problem? Would appreciate your input. Thanks, DLS, Linden, NJ

Turn the power off and physically check the blower wheel. Possibly a piece of filter or even a tool is in the wheel. Does the noise go away or is it constant?

Probably has lost the balance tab from the blower wheel . the fix will be a new wheel that is properly balanced

SOURCE: York P3HU Gas Furnace Blower wheel makes noise and vibrates

yes you have a bad blower wheel the fins are crimped to the disks, if you can take the blower assembly out just watch the wiring and take the motor out of the center of housing away from blower wheel and when taking out the wheel remember the diriction of the wheel

SOURCE: What is the blower model for the Carrier Unit

Hi, when you have a little play from side to side just shows very little bearing wear on the blower motor. In and Out play is normal. Spin the wheel to see if it is true. If the blower wheel has a lot of dirt build up on the blades it will cause it to be out of balance. If it is clean, but warped, take it to a motor repair shop along with the model and serial numbers. Call you're local wholesale a/c parts house with all of your info and they will look this up for you.The numbers that you have listed shows you have a 042 which is a 31/2 ton and 048 which is a 4 ton unit. More then likely, the wheel is out of balance and should be replaced, and they can look up the info you are requesting. Good Luck,

Sounds like something happened with gas pressure?
Way high?
Absolutely, call somebody / a tech that knows how to test for gas pressures using a Manometer. Your Gas provider, should have a tech service dept.

Our dryer has started making a loud thumping sound and smells like rubber burning?

It sounds like you your dryer may have a bad Blower Wheel, which is causing the banging noise that you are hearing (especially if the banging noise continues for a few sections after you turn your dryer off).

Hope this is helpful.

I have a Echo PB 2601 made a loud bang then stoped working.

Sounds like it has seized up. If the pull cord won't pull then the motor is locked up. Did you run gas/oil mix for the fuel its a 2 cycle motor...

Ge window unit runs fine but there is a rachety sound

Hi,

One way to reduce the sound it makes is by placing styropor insulation around the unit. Although a better way is to have it inspected by technician to check the blower balance and correct it.

I hope this helps.

Loud knocking sound

You have a bad drive block. This block is located under the inner tub. A special spanner wrench is required to remove the tub. You really need to call a service tech for this repair.
