I noticed that when there is no charging for battery the fault code P-05 flashes ... I bought another Battery. but battery keeps dying without flashing the fault code P-5 I checked the charger unit ... its ok ... also I have changed the battery charger .. and there is no change... I tried to change the Relly that connect with the charger directly ...also no change ( battery dying ) I checked the wiring ... every thing is ok but there is something...I am suspecting the small Relly ( inside the control panel who's in charge for control switching between the battery source and the charger unit source ) maybe not switching . anyway ...Is there any one had been through the same problem or any one has any idea about this problem .

forget about the display read the manual and find out how many volts are needed to charge the battery....then
get a voltometer and disconnect the terminals from the battery and connect them to the voltometer while the generator is running...
find out what the reading is...if the reading is zero (0)...then post a problem on (no out put)...
if not.....then there has to be a mistake...
if it reads a voltage thats too low..then you AVR card is burnt out (AVR card is located in the other end of the generator (beyond the stator-side cover)...

SOURCE: Idle battery - will not charge
After over two weeks of looking up this same problem online, I have came to this conclusion. Dell does not stick by their product. I have toshiba, HP, and sony in the past 7 years. Those three companies still help you problem solve even if the warranty is out. Of courese you pay to have it fixed; however, they help you. Dell, what do **** after your warranty is out. YOu have to pay them just to talk to them about the problem and try to find out what it is. I am going to apple.

Sounds like you need to calibrate the battery, it is supposed to be done every 3 months. If it is not done, your battery will display the same symptoms are you describe. Yes, this holds true for adding a new battery also.
Here is HP's instructions on how to do it. You want to scroll down to the section called "Calibrate the notebook PC battery".

Hi m529,
I see you are having issues with you G550 charging.
You mentioned that the light on the charger is lit up but then it suddenly switches Off, and you also mentioned that the charge still has a light but the power is somewhat low despite of a fully lit up charger Light.
Have you tried draining the power from the system?
I suggest that you call Lenovo for further information about your system, if you still have warranty and is still in the one year period then your system will be covered for any repairs needed - you can call @ 1 877 453 6686 for troubleshooting, you will be asked for a serial number Located underneath the Laptop on a small white sticker that states s/n meaning serial number.
I hope that this Helps.
Have a nice day,
