Needle hitting bobbin case

Try a brand new needle. Make sure it is the right needle for the machine and that it is installed correctly.

If the needle continues to hit the bobbin case, then there is a needle/hook timing issue. Take it for service.

Model 930.Why is presser foot not lined up correctly?

Is your needle position centered? The round dial on the top right is a combination zig-zag stitch width selector and the center silver dial selects the needle position. If it is pointed at the #2, then the needle should be centered and something (probably the needle bar) has been knocked out of alignment on your machine (which would probably mean repair service).

Also, if the needle is hitting the presser foot, you probably have a straight stitch foot on your machine which requires the needle be centered. To do any decorative or zig-zag stitching, the presser foot needs to have a wide space for the needle to swing back and forth. The zig-zag foot is marked with a zero.

I know how to attach my ruffler foot but my needle keeps hitting the plate .what do I need to adjust to keep the needle from hitting the foot

You may need to move the needle position left or right. Try a different stitch length. If the ruffler foot is installed correctly and needle is in the correct position this should not happen. It is hitting left/right/forward or back of the ruffler needle space?

Simplicity sewing machine SL 9240 was giving to me and when I try to sew the needle keeping hitting the bobbin holderr.

On the right side you have two knobs to make adjustments. The lower knob will move the needle left or right so it won't hit the bobbin holder.

THe needle hits the base plate about 1mm on the far side of the hole.

You may have the stitch setting on the left/right(depends which side it hits) setting, or the needle is un-noticeably bent. Depending on where the needle hits, if you are in zig-zag mode and it is hitting the base plate(wide slotted base plate req'd) the machine may need re-setting of the needle stops(if fitted). This is uncommon so its more likely to be a bent needle.

When i use my janome overlocker the needle is hitting the lower looper, and therefore breaking. This is happening with both needles. I have taken the covers off and the needles are hitting the metal. Is it...

Hello,
Here are a few things to try.

* When you insert anew needle, make sure it’s positioned correctly. Usually with the flat side
away from the bobbin, but consult your manual. Make sure that it goes all the way into the holder, and that the screw is securely tightened.

If there doesn’t seem to be a problem with your needle, try the following:

* Check your pressure foot
Make sure it’s attached securely.

* Change your pressure foot
Your pressure foot may be bent, causing your needle to hit it.

* Don’t sew over pins
A needle that hits a pin can break. Always remove the pins from your fabric before they reach
your needle.

* Don’t pull your fabric as you sew
You could be bending your needle back, causing it to hit your needle plate instead of going into
the hole. Just guide your fabric, letting it feed on its own.

* Check your needle plate
Make sure it's securely in position.

* Change your needle plate
If you’ve been using a straight stitch needle plate (a plate with a small hole, often used for
sewing fine, delicate fabrics), switch to a needle plate with a wider hole.

* Check the position of your needle
Sewing machines with zigzag capability allow you to adjust the position of your needle – right,
left, or center. If your needle is not positioned correctly, it may be hitting your needle plate or
pressure foot.

I hope one of these solutions help you.

Needle hits inside of bobbin case.

Try replacing your needle. You might have bent it. Hope this works for you. Sally
