Sander doesn't spin

My SXE450 sander stops spinning when load is applied to the disk. The motor runs smooth, orbital movement is ok and the disk spins until even a little load is applied. Results is that is doesn't remove any wood.

YOUR BALLBEARING where the disk is on mounted is the right bearing that have the problem for shure it is full of dust or completely dry it will not turn anymore SIMPLY TO CONTROL IF YOU MOVE YOUR DISK NOW ON YOUR MACHINE YOUR ARMATURE TURNS DIRECTLY WITH THE DISK thats not good the armature must stand still , replace the ballbearing or remove it and open it with a very little sharp screwdriver on the both sides solvent it out try to turn the bearing carefully until its turns without problems dry it or blow it out with a compressor and if its dry lubricate with ballbearing grease close it again and mount it again

Please help me to understand a faulty motor

If you go on a Bosch factory web site you should be able to enter your model and down load a parts list. From that you will see that the motor drive an eccentric dog that causes the plate to jitterbug. If you kept the original paperwork you will have had this with it. All Bosch units come with warranty and parts list. Look up your nearest Bosch tools agent, see if he'll strip it if you can't and determine what's needed. You may find its easier and more cost effective to shop around online for a special offer and buy a new one. Not very green I know but may be more practical.

I have a pts4 porter cable pneumatic sander that spins but stops on contact with a 100 grit pad or any pad that ive tried and this hapens even at the start before the compressor even kicks on. it didnt...

this unit takes 90 pounds per constant for desired function. Most machine shops have Huge compressors that will run these at a constant rate ,, also check the exhaust ( towards the vacuum hookup to check for clogs,, ) compressors that have a gauge that read 90 lbs doesn't necesarly mean they have the CFM to keep the pressure at what you need to keep it running

My 5" random orbit sander model 333 is spinning out of control. What do I do?

I may not have the whole picture, but all random orbits spin wildly if they are not pressed onto the wood a little. Do you mean it is not oscellating, but just spinning when it is on the wood? That would be an issue requiring cleaning or repair, otherwise, just don't turn it on until you have placed it on the wood to avoid marring.

It spins out of control if I don't keep it under load.

Im not sure what you mean "out of control" but the tool is only meant to be on while in use . If the tool is really going crazy ,pull off orbital and check all screws and tighten accordingly

No drum movement during wash/spin cycle, although it fills/drains

brushes need replacing in motor. Usually cheap enough to buy and do yourself.

I have the porter cable 7424 buffer/polisher. My problem is when you apply any pressure, even the weight of only the buffer on the car it stops spinning. You have to hold it up slightly lifting the we

The armiture has a winding problem, common in a lot of power tools. Replacing the armiture is not cost affective unless your time put into it is worth it, sorry. I recomend the Dewalt veriable speed, nice professional buffer!

Slipping belt

OK the belt tensioning mechanism is spring loaded. First what is the quality of the belts are they real flimsy or stiff. You say the rollers spin but my question does the rear roller still spin and the belt remain stationary. If so the rubber belt on motor is bad. I would take a look for excessive wear on the rear roller. Does the yoke mechanism snap forward or move slowly, look for a build up of sawdust in this area that might be restricting movement on the yoke. The wear plate in still good condition. One other thing on the belts are they directional? Do they have an arrow on the inside if so that has to point toward front of tool. I looked at a breakdown and could not see anything else to suggest. I never had this problem except with belts when I was at Makita.

Disc pad stops

It could either be that the brushes partially burned I would check to make sure your brushes are in good shape and take it out of the helpers pay ;)
