Protect is an indication that one of the output amplifiers is shorted. The unit turns itself off to avoid burning more components. I'd recommend taking it in to a repair facility for replacement of the blown output amp.

Computer has power, but nothing happens

How long is a piece of string?

A list of parts is not going to indicate whether you have connected or installed it correctly. Have you put or attempted to put software on the drive? Is the HDD partitioned and formatted? No drivers installed for video or sound... unless you have an operating system installed.

Too many variables to answer this question, without details of what was done or wasn't done Hardware will operate to some degree even without op system ( monitor and satac DVD drive)

We were running a small show on the system, it was not loud. Throughout the night the protect button came on, but then we made some adjustments and restarted the system. Then it went into protect mode and...

Yes, take it to a repair shop.

You have a failure either in the power supply or one of the power amps. There is likely to be burned component(s) that are not user serviceable.

These things are a bear to work on... Mine failed again and I dread having to work on it.

The protect monitors power supply current drain of the switcher and the power amp balance.

DO NOT USE IT till it is repaired. Continued use or fuse replacement will likely do additional damage.

My siemens LCD monitor back light turns off after 1 sec

You need to check out caps in the power supply section first, then check the backlight inverter circuits for bad fuse, transistors. It can also be bad lamps. See example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

My 450 watt fusion amp is now in ''protect mode''. how can i fix this?

Start by completely turning off the power to it and anything connected to it. Turn all levels down to there lowest volume settings. Check to be sure your speakers are not shorted. Be sure the power voltage is correct. Turn on each of the items, the amp being last. That probably will resolve the problem but I am not that familiar with the unit just trying to help. Most units have stay in protect mode until I cycle the power. Typically they monitor the speaker current hence a short would cause almost an instant protect fault.
Good Luck,

My Lg Monitor wont show screen (Power Button Flashing)

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.
