I was given a Homelite hedgetrimmer (18 V battery model) It has two batteries that appear to be semi-dead and when I put them in the charger, I get an orange and green light. Since I have no manual, I am not sure what this means. The green light indicates a full charge, but obviously the battery is dead. Is there anywhere I can download a manual or is there any way to test the charger to see if it is the problem? Thanks

The batteries will not accept a charge, therefore the charger things they are full. When a battery sits for that long then they drain beyond the point of repair.

Maybe your battery was damage due to over charging it. You need to replace your battery. The desktop icon can says it's fully charged because you have plugged it and those are the indication that your battery was damage if you unplugged the AC power. The battery of the laptop are disposable and it cannot be repaire. The best solution of your problem was to replace your battery.

Dead, with charger connected?

Your Car or Truck has more than one battery?

'year make model' in all vehicle questions, first 3 words.

'make model (what it is)' in all others.

Then put it in the right category from a selection of around 10,000. Then we can help.

There are 4 contact points on a ryobi 18 v battery. The positive and negative are marked the other 2 are not what are the 2 not marked for if for the charger which 1 is which

they are for the charger to know the voltage in the battery to turn on or off charging. some just need 3 connections and the 4th is just a dead connection. or can be for location only so you don't put the wrong battery in. as they do other voltage batteries that look the same fitting.

How do I reboot batteries

Hi mike , you could try a car battery charger to bring the voltages up but this rarely works , sadly your batteries are nearly dead..

One thing to note , check the charger , if the charger bad then the batteries will reflect that ..

The charger that comes with Homelite 24v mower is crappy. I've gone thru 3 of them. What's a better alternative?

I have used a DieHard portable battery charger (model 200.71222) for several years to recharge my 24-volt, 18-year old Craftsman mulcher, model 315.370270. This is after the on-board charger died. I just disconnect the link between the two 12-volt batteries and remove all other battery connections. Then connect the charger leads to the positive and negative terminals on one of the batteries before plugging in the charger. I put the settings on the charger at conventional low maintenance and 2 amps. Charge one battery and then the other (assuming you have two 12-volt sealed lead acid batteries like my mower). I use binder clips 530-t.jpgfrom an office supply store to hold the battery wires on the terminals when I'm mowing...makes it simpler to remove and reattach for charging instead of the nut-and-bolt connectors that came with the mower.

My fone dead put charger in does nothing dead dead dead

Nokia phones are notorious for slow response time when recharging from a completely dead battery.

Remove battery.
Make sure there is good contact between all of the contact points.
Replace battery.
plug in charger.
wait for at least 5 min.
If recharge symbol does not appear in window, then one of these things has occurred:
1. Phone has internal damage or water damage. no way to fix without nokia service.
2. Battery is dead. Try a new battery
3. Charger is bad. Try a new/different car charger or home charger.
These chargers are very inexpensive on Craigs List, try to solve it before throwing away the phone. Good luck,
A former Nokia employee.

Hi, my drill has just stopped working i have changed the battery but it seems dead ?? the drill is about 3 years old but has only been used a hand full of times as it a personal home diy tool ?????

When you put the battery in the charger, does the light go on? The charger has lights to indicate whether the battery is fully charged or not. If it is dead when you put it in the charger and remains that way after one hour, you can be pretty sure that the battery is dead. If there are NO lights on the charger, plug it into a different outlet and recheck. Not using the drill for long periods of time is really not good for the battery. The drill is probably ok, but the charger or battery could be the problem.

Dead short on power jack

Do you have a voltmeter to check the output of the charger?
If it's putting out the required am't of volts (usually about 18), then it's not your charger--it's the motherboard.
Or a shorted battery. One of the two.

Battery won't charge, 24v charger doesn't light up

Original battery is 130$+, or you can buy replacement for cheapest price (work the same). So, depends from the wallet, choose one... I found them on amazon, take a look:
1. cheapest one (about 30-40$): Amazon com 12N9 4B1 battery
2. Original one (130$+): Finally charging for our multi device world
I hope this was helpful. cheers
