Slvr L7 Memory Card Problem

I just bought a 2gb SanDisk microSD Trans Flash memory card for my slvr L7 and its not working at al... My phone detects it but it cant read it. It ask me if I want to format it and I say yes and it says its unreadable. I'm wondering if the slvr L7 accepts a 2gb memory stick or what the max is for the Slvr L7. If anyone knows the answer to this would be of great help. Thanks.

I have the same issues, many cards only work here and there, the data gets corrupted. I have had nothing but trouble with Motorola junk! This phone has been repaired so many times until the warranty ran out. Time for a new phone and it will not be a Moto since they have been more trouble for me than any brand I have ever had. And I have had many phones over the years ever since cellphones were very new and few & far between. Moto is the worst by far!

when i go to setting then phone status, storage devices,card-unformatted,iselect that it says format when i select format,it says format failed try again?

  • Killa357 May 11, 2010

I have had an L7 for a year now. I have gone through a few memory cards. The first one was a 128MB card, I later upgraded to a 1GB card. Now I know that the recommended limit is 512MB, but the 1GB card worked great for a while. Then suddenly it would randomly not be able to read it. And guess what? It would not read the 128MB either. Last night, after having got several months without a card, I found some that were pretty cheap and decided to take advantage of it. They were 1GB cards. They worked the fist time I put them in my phone but now it went back to randomly reading them. So please, if anyone can SOLVE this problem and not just repeat what the last person said, then please do so.

"jasperdino" is correct. the highest expandable mem card you can use is 1GB but anything over 512MB is very unreliable

Please read the specifications of your phone on the box, and you will see that the phone can handle up to 512mb expandable memory. 512mb is the maximum memory u can put without any malfunctioning issues.

Make sure it is saved on your computer under the file name ".mp3" and not ".wma".

I had them saved in the wrong format for a while myself a bit.

Look at spec for your phone. some l7's are up to 512 some up to a gig (L7i) and some can use 2g + like the L72 (L9)
Mine has a 1g kingston card in it right now and it works flawlessly. the 4g card hasn't yet. I'm still working on opening it up

SLVR L7 only goes to 1GB, or mine does, anyway. Hope I can get a trade off for the 2GB one I got instead.

When I went to AT&T they let us choose which card to get, my husband had the Mp3 playing RAZR and I have the L7, so I don't think it's limited to one size SD card. I bought the cheaper one anyway, which is the 512mb, but it works fine on my phone, never any problems.

And I like how I can just go to a kiosk and print pictures off. And I don't have to pay for ringtones cause I can just save them to my card from my computer.

The specs from mine says 1 gb
and as to the itunes problem, just connect the memory card and manually copy music files to it. i know its longer then you want the process to be, but it gets the job done and is a simple solution

SOURCE: Memory Card-Motorola L7

Well that phone holds up to a 1gb memory card but I would suggest getting a 512mb cause if you full the 1gb it will freeze your phone and it would of no use to you anymore.

I have moto L6 phone 2gb,but not seen memory, only

Most razr's don't come with that kind of memory onboard but they are expandable to 2GB's. The slot for the microSD card is located just below the battery to the right a small bit. But if you know you have the microSD card already installed, you normally have to switch between the storage devices in the menu, as it lists the phones memory and the storage card separately. Hope that helps.

My motorola slvr l7 will not accept files, says files too large. also my phone wont format the memory card (2GB sandisk). please help

the space in your memory card might be not enought to receive a file and save. if the phone is not formatting the memory card, use a card reader.

Memory card will not format

No. The maximum size of memory card supported by this model is 1GB microSD type only. So it wont recognize your 2 GB memory card.

Try inserting the micro sd card in the larger sd adapter that will allow you to put it into your computer reader. Try formatting it there instead
