OTC Wireless Bridge

After the Wireless Bridge installation I was able to connect my laptop directly into the hub and get to the internet. The wireless bridge was setup so that our two warehouse could stay on one network along with IP phones so that our phone system in both buildings could communicate as one. After the IP phone installation only one of the IP phone is connecting properly though they're both configured exactly the same. On the IP phone that is not connecting it reads "finding ip card". When I try to connect my laptop to the IP phone that is working correctly the phone's connection is lost until I disconnect the laptop. Should I use a crossover cable to solve this? I've been trying to figure this out for the past week and the IP phone techs don't have a resolution and the OTC tech also do not understand why it was working and now it is not. I would truly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks. Ruth Lalputan

OTC Wireless Bridge

Alright I have good news and bad news the good news is: if you remove your IP Phones the setup will work again. Once it is working plug in one of your IP phones with Laptop plugged into the bridge. Once the IP phone is connected test if the Laptop remains connected. The use another Laptop with crossover cable to connect it to the IP Phone one question (is the IP Phone acting as a bridge between the OTC Router and the Laptop?)If it is it can pull an IP address if the OTC Router is a router and the IP phone is acting as a routed interface bridge. Once you get this to work duplicate the setup for the rest of you IP phones and laptops. BTW you do realize you are pummeling the router with RTP/UDP packets? I hope this helps Thank you, Shuttle83

How do you get wireless internet on the 366 MHZ

your processor doesnt really have anything to do with the ability to get wireless internet. You can buy a wireless card and install it into your tower. You can buy one at any computer store or even walmart. This is assuming that you have a desktop pc and not a laptop. If you have a laptop you can buy a wireless card for it also. The easiest route would be to buy a usb wireless card, as long as you have a usb port available. Here is a link to a usb adapter:

Wireless not working

Make sure the wireless pickup for the laptop, integrated or separate is installed properly and is enabled. The laptop should have a function key (check your manual) like "FN". Pressing this key and usually a function key (F1-F12) should tell you if the wireless function if built in is enabled. If the wireless pickup is USB or a PCMCIA, check the installation again and make sure the hardware is compatible with each other. It's usually not a good idea to mix vendors like using a Linksys router with a Netgear pickup.
