I have a Taylor C713 Ice Cream Machine. IT has been working great until a few days ago. We had it in standby overnight and when we came back the next morning, the ice cream in one side was rotten from being too warm. There was no error on the display it just stopped cooling in the hopper. The barrell was still freezing on both sides and the hopper on the other side was over cold and there was ice around the sides. how do we fix this. what went wrong?

Those are symptoms of the mix refrigeration system being undercharged. You will need a refrigeration technician to add refrigerant.

In Taylor soft serve machines when the left side hopper (standing in front of the machine) is icing up and the right side hopper is not cold enough, the problem is low refrigerant in that system. It takes R134A.

gearbox is sealed, I've never replaced one.check belts could be too tight, does it scream when you start it. check bearing at end of barrel sharp edge means needs replacing. check temperature of product disspensed on loud side could be too cold. adjust on board or needs new probe, inexpensive but a ***** to install.

SOURCE: taylor 754-27 runs good until ice cream is made

It is possible that your viscosity is set too cold. You should check the temperature of your product to see if it is too cold. Is the Ice Cream hard? It sounds like maybe the beater overload is tripping. Some of the overloads can reset on their own. If you have and know how to use an ammeter, it would be beneficial to check the amp draw of the beater motor to determine if you are exceeding the overload or not. Ice cream is generally good at a temp between 16 and 20 degrees F. Temps vary with product and product brands. I hope this information helps, it is hard to determine exact problem without being there.

SOURCE: My Taylor 754 makes ice cream. You make a draw on

First, be sure you have good scraper blades. All too often the importance of the scraper blades is overlooked. After you know these are good (you should put some new ones in just in case), be sure the refrigeration condensers are clean. Also, check the air discharge to verify it is not clogged. Hi pressure air or CO2 is best for cleaning condensers. They are located on the sides of the machine (if your machine is water cooled, be sure you have adequate water supply.). You will have to remove the sides of the machine to access the condensers appropriately. Clean the hopper condenser as well while you are inside the machine. It is the small condenser located in the middle of the machine toward the front. If all of the above are done and your problem continues, you will need to call for service as you likely have a low refrigerant level.

WHAT IT MEANS R-HPR THERMAL FAIL FOR TAYLOR ICE CREAM MACHINE MODEL C713

That code means the right side hopper thermistor probe has failed. That is the sensor that reads the temperature of product in the mix hopper.

This is the part you need:

If you order it from us, I would be happy to put a technician on the phone to help you install it yourself.

Why would a Taylor C713 be making darker and icier soft serve than normal?

I generally see this happen when the air to mix ratio is off. This generally happens overnight when the machine is in standby someone forgets to flip the feed tubes so that no more product is drawn into the freezing cylinder.

Your viscosity could also be set too low.

Taylor ice cream machine model C713-33 no yogurt comes out when the draw handle it pressed. It seems to be flowing backwards. The agitators are turning in the same direction as the working machines

IF your Taylor C713 is pushing the mix back up through the feed tube, the rotation is reversed. That would only happen on a 3 phase machine like yours.

If you've recently unplugged the machine to move it or something, you probably switched the plugs. Try switching them back.

If you need to reverse the rotation:
1. Unplug the machine.
2. Flip the black and white wires on the plug end.
3. Reassemble the plug and plug in the machine. Make sure everything is tight.

I just replaced the two beater drive motors on my Taylor c713 ice Cream machine now when I power up communication failure comes up

Every time I have seen that, it is just the USB cable on the mother board in the back of the machine.
1. Shut off and disconnect the machine from power
2. Remove the rear panel
3. Remove the electrical panel cover
4. Find the USB cable on the bottom of the board all the way to your right.

My C713 water cooled yogurt machine keeps locking and only works when cleaned but only for a few hours then it locks again. Does anyone know why?

The temperature of the product is too high. If the product either in the cylinders or the hopper goes above safe temperature for too long the freezer will lock until the product is removed and the unit is properly cleaned. I would guess it's the hopper temperature because I think you would notice if the product that's dispensed is above 40 degrees. Soft Serve Parts C713

Standby keeps turning on when in standby but auto works turns itself on and off fine. Both sides of unit

I don't think you have a problem... I have a Taylor 8756p-27. In standby mode with my unit the beater motor turns on for about 15 seconds every 15 minutes and the compressor turns on as needed to keep the mix at a safe temperature. This is what standby mode is supposed to do. If you don't want it to turn on and off so much in standby mode, perhaps leave it in AUTO mode and it will turn off and on as it needs to to keep your product at the proper temperature.

My Taylor c713 is on "R Beater Overload", I came into the shop to find it had done this over night.. I emptied the ice cream out of the machine and cleaned it, upon pushing the reset button and trying to...

That is most likely the stand by probe. The standby thermistor probe measures the temperature of product, in this case in the freezing cylinder, while the machine is in standby. Usually when the thermistor fails, you come in in the morning to find that the product is liquid and the reset has been tripped. The motor should be nowhere near the overload setting in standby as the product should be liquid. Thermistor probe C712 C713 Barrel Stanbye Probe
