SOURCE: Wi-Fi isn't working

This could be a duplex issue. When you log into the belkin does is assign you an IP address? Have you used a ballpoint pen to reset the EMTA since you have connected the router?

SOURCE: My modem keeps losing internet connection

Update your drivers and then do a speed test. Most isp send updates to the subscribers when they update, yours may not. Don't forget to check all of your connections before wasting time calling your isp. I trust this test the most. Rember you don't always get what you pay for.

Are you sure you have posted the right model. The thing is, a SURFBoard Cable Modem does not provide WiFi. You will need a router for that.

SOURCE: i need to connect to

The WEP address will not be created from your SurfBoard modem. This is something a router will do for you. The modem simply gives you a direct connection to the pipe (web).

Do you have a router?

My ipod says no internet connection but my coputer is on line

Hi Kate, try turning your cell phone off then on.... If still no Wi-Fi Hi, and you're trying to connect to your home Wi-Fi The password is on the back of the modem in the house, Write it down then go into your phone/tablet settings and tap "CONNECTIONS", Then tap on Wi-Fi and make sure it's switched on(should be a button there), Once switched on it should start scanning automatically for networks, but if not then there's a scan button there somewhere. When it finds the modem just tap on it and a small window opens for the password, Type in the pass word tap ok and you're connected... Bellow is a link to a short youtube video explaining pretty much the same thing I said..... I hope this helps..., CHEERS..

Connect motorola modemsbSB6121 to Belink N600 wireless router with out losing internet signal

Step one turn on PC directly connected to ModemsbSB6121 without Wi FI router being involved.
Step two go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter)
Step three note IP address of default gateway and ip address issued to P.C.
Step four type in default gateway address into browser and log into Modem.
Step five look for DHCP Server and allocate IP addresses from at least 50 for example 192.168.0.50 starting ip lease ending ip lease 192.168.0.254
Step six connect Wi Router to P.C. via ethernet cable only - remove ModemSB6121
Step Seven shutdown and restart p.c
Step Eight go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter)
Step Nine note IP address of default gateway and ip address issued to P.C.
Step Ten type in default gateway address into browser and log into Wi Fi Router
Step Eleven Change IP address on Router to 2 as example 192.168.0.2. (it has to match in that modem device would have been 192,168.0.1)
(if it was 10.0.0.1 make wi fi 10.0.0.2 make sure subnet mask is the same like 255.255.255.0)
Step twelve Change DHCP Server to off
Step Thirteen may need to set default gateway to MODEM IP address for example 192.168.0.1
Step Fourteen plug modem router into Wi Fi router may need to plug into WAN port on WI FI router .
Step Fifteen shutdown and Restart Computer
Step Sixteen go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter)
Step Seventeen type in PING 192.168.0.1 (if this is modem IP address and default gateway IP addess)
All this above is to avoid IP address conflicts or mismatching
Subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0
either it uses 192.168.0.1 or it uses 10.0.0.1 make sure Wi FI router is set to different address to Modem Router.
I suspect either a clash occurs or your P.C gets a different IP range from ther WI FI DHCP server.
Happy troubleshooting !

I cannot connect to the internet using my dlink dir-600 router

  • Check the cable modem status light. If this cable is loose at either connection point, you must tighten it before hoping to attain your Wi-Fi signal again.
  • Verify that the Internet light on your Netgear wireless router is solid or blinking green.

  • Press the "Reset" button that is located on the front face, top or rear of the broadband modem. This button allows your modem to re-initialize, and this may solve your problem once it boots back up.

I'm using the NetGear WNA 3100 Adapter wizard. The wizard shows the adapter is connected to my home network but still has "limited or no connection". I tried to let Windows Repair fix it but...

If your wi-fi router is supplied by your internet service provider (they may call it a "gateway") then you can ask their tech support for advice in resolving the issue.
If you have your own router you may want to start by power cycling everything.
Unplug the power cord from your modem, your router, and shutdown your computer (shutdown, not sleep!).
Wait about 15 or 20 seconds then plug in the power cord for the modem. Now, wait about one minute for the modem to fully boot up and settle down.
Next, plug in the power cord to the router and wait 30 seconds to a minute for it to fully boot up and settle down.
Next, turn on your computer and wait for it to fully boot up and settle down.
Try connecting to wi-fi again.
If it doesn't work, move on to the next step:
Open Control Panel/Device manager. Locate "Network adapters' in the list and select the Netgear adapter. A dialog box opens.
In the Netgear adapter dialog box select "Uninstall this device" and click on Yes/OK.
Restart the computer and wait a minute or so while Windows re-installs the adapter.
Now try connecting to wi-fi again.
If that fails, you can try resetting your router to its factory default settings:
Your wireless router has a tiny pinhole somewhere on the rear panel or on one end. It should be labeled "Reset". Bend open a paperclip, push the pointy end of the paperclip firmly into the pinhole and hold it there for 10 or 15 seconds. This will reset the wi-fi router to its default settings. Now, you can set up a fresh password on the router and sign in using the new password on your computer.

The simplest step may be to right-click on the Wi-fi icon in one of your computers' system tray (bottom right corner of the screen). Click on "Troubleshoot problems". The troubleshooter program will try to identify and fix any of several possible causes. Wait patiently while it searches ....
If the Windows troubleshooter fails to resolve the issue, you can try power-cycling the chain of components by following these steps:
1. Unplug the power cord from the Modem.
2. Unplug the power cord from the Router.
3. Shutdown the computer(s) that need wi-fi.
4. Wait twenty seconds, then plug in the power cord for the Modem. Then wait at least one full minute for the Modem to boot up and settle down.
5. Next, plug in the power cord for the Router. Wait at least thirty seconds for it to fully boot up and settle down.
6. Power on one computer that needs wi-fi. Wait for it to fully boot up and settle down. Check if you have a connection to the Router.

Wi -Fi usage in my laptop

Try a third time (every time I go into my own network places for netgear I loose this fixya page -sorry watch for duplication).

Go into "start menu" then click on "my network places" then click on anything that says "netgear router" if its there, click on this and it should bring you to your password for netgear, click this with your password and this should bring you to your main page of your Netgear Router software programing.
Click on "connection status" if it says "success" under "negotiation" then its working OK. If you don't get "succes" then you have problems and I recommend you ring the Netgear service number written in your instruction papers in your old modem/router box they are usually based in Malaysia and very helpful.
Best wishes,
