Well if your tv is older like the one in the pic it sounds like the bulb is overheating, you may want to vacuum the dust out of the back and make sure it isn't got block of air flow in the back and also make sure it isn't up against a heat source
TV has gone into "protect mode" to do just that to protect against the damaging failure that has been detected, you will need a servicer to diagnose the failure. Good luck and Merry Christmas!
ok I'm looking at the owners manual and it says that if you tv is plugged in to a higher voltage outlet in my turn its self off as a fire safty switch. So check to see if the plug in is a 210 outlet if so thats your problem otherwise it doesnt show anything else about it turning off hope that helps!
is it showing it turn its self up on the tv by the bars or is the sound just getting louder by itself
is your remote a learning remote and does your tv have a preset volume that when turned on its to goto
if showing by bars one of the buttons on your remote is stuck or needs cleaning and
quite possibly getting an outside frequency thats interfering with your remote frequency
but if no bars are showing the service provider company i noticed my self there tv programs are flauxing in sound for some reason this to me gets annoying
Hi John
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. MAY BE INTERMITTENT, SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK C411 2200 UFD 35 V AND C412 10 UFD 50 V, BOTH LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB
I had same problem. Tech's said the power was noisy. I cleaned up the power but the TV still did exactly as you describe. Problem will progressively get worse with longer bouts of flickering.
I was under warrenty and sent the TV back. After 3 months I am still waiting for a repalcement.
