You can connect your Playstation 3 to your TV in three different
methods:
- Connecting with an AV cable
- Connecting with an HDMI cable
- Connecting with an Optical Cable
Connecting with an AV Cable:
- You are supplied with a Composite
AV cable which would typically look like the below image
- Connect the AV Multi Out Connector
to the socket on the back of your PS3 Console.
- Match the colors of the Jacks with
the connectors on the TV which says "Video in".
Connecting with an HDMI
Cable:
HDMI cable is not supplied with the PS3. You need to purchase it
seperately. This cable would enhance the audio-video quality of your
TV.
- Just connect one end of the
connector to the HDMI OUT connector socket on the back of the console
- Connect the other end to the
socket on the back of your TV which says HDMI IN.
Connecting with an
Optical cable:
You need to purchase an Optical cable if you wish to connect your PS3
console through a digital audio device (Home theater, AV receiver
etc.,). You need to connect Video ouput seperately with a help of Video
output cable (HDMI, AV Cable etc.,)
- Connect one end of the optical
cable to "Audio Out" socket on the console
- Connect the other end to the audio
receiver.
Note: You can also connect your console to the
Internet to use the Playstation 3 internet capabilities. Here's how
you do it:
The Playstation 3 only supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T type
networks. It needs a High speed internet connection. Do not connect it
to a standard telephone connection or cables that are not supported.
It might cause a malfunction or damage to the system.
