I need a wiring diagram for a Lutron FD-12 fluorescent dimmer

I looked, it doesn't look like the documentation of this product is supported on-line anywhere. Frankly, I don't know if it ever was.

I would call Lutron's tech support center at 1-800-523-9466, available 24/7. They should be able to e-mail you something.

New installation of Luton tg603pg dimmer - lights are considerably less bright at full brightness setting than previous switch. bad switch, or other problem?

No problem, merely a misunderstanding. That's actually the point of that product (the 'g' in the model number was the clue). This is their "eco-dim" line of products, and its specifically designed to not let the lights go over 85% light level. Its a means of using the dimmer to help guarantee energy savings and lamp life extension.

If this bothers you, then I would return it and grab one that doesn't have the "g" in the model number.

Hello - I have just installed two Lutron eco-dimmers in my kitchen. They work expect that the on/off switch is reversed and yet the dimmer toggler is working correctly: slid up it's on and slide down and it...

Double check the model number - is it a TG-600PH or a TG-603PH?

If its a TG-603PH, and this is part of a 3-way circuit (there's another light switch that turns the lights those same lights on & off), then this is normal. If you flick the other light switch, you'll then see that the dimmer works like it should. This has always been the case with 3-way switches, up doesn't necessarily mean "on" and vice-versa.

If its a TG-603PH, and this is part of a single-pole circuit (this is the only light switch for those lights), then the product is miswired, and upside-down. To fix the miswire, look at the screws on the back of the unit (ignore the green grounding screw for the time being), two of those screws are made of the same material (same color), and only one of them should have an electrical wire going to it. Take that wire out and put it on the other screw of the same color. That fixes the miswire. Then when you re-install the device, flip it upside-down from what it was before.

If its DEFINATELY a single-pole, TG-600PH, then call their tech support center at 1-800-523-9466 - because that makes absolutely no sense.

Good luck!

When I press on the dimmer switch, it made a noise and the light did not come on. Is it burned?

I answer questions for free.
I specialize in timers and electrical devices.

There are not replacement parts for electrical wall devices.
You can pull out the device and see if there is a loose wire that caused the pop.
But today's dimmers are electronic, and if there is a pop, I bet the circuit board inside the dimmer has been ruined.

If you need more help, add a comment and I will respond.

I am installing a 3-way dimmer switch. The installation instructions only describe placing the switch at the location that has always has 120 volts. Is it possible to install the 3-way dimmer switch at...

Yes. The dimmer can be installed at either location - I think the instructions only describe the one location just to attempt to keep it simple.

To connect it at the other location, use the instructions you have, except where it says to connect to the house-wire that has 120-volts on it (connected to the breaker), instead, connect it to the house-wire running to the light fixture.

Dimmer switch lights but does not dim?

The most likely possibility is that the dimmer simply broke. I would call Lutron tech support at 1-800-523-9466 to help you diagnose it and possibly send you a replacement (available 24/7).

It stopped dimming. Lights stay on full power

This is not a serviceable item. If this is the only switch in the circuit, then there is no further troubleshooting to consider. The dimmer simply needs to be replaced.
