Acer Aspire one 722 windows 7 netbook. "Check cable connection" and "no bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key" are two common things appearing. The computer recognized hardrive, hardr

Hello, it looks like somehow the master boot record was erased from the hard drive, maybe viral? You mentioned the hard drive was recognized in the bios correct? If you need data from the hard drive the easiest way would be to pull the hard drive out and use an external hard drive enclosure to remove the data before you erase everything from the hard drive. If you dont need anything thing you can proceed to do a new install of Windows 7. Turn the computer on then hold alt and the f10 key to perform a factory recovery. This will erase everything and reinstall Windows 7. If this doesnt work then you will need a new hard drive and a bootable usb drive with Windows 7 on it. Hope this helps.

My bio500ue enigma 500g acomdata hardrive, works just fine on my computer with windows vista, but my new computer with windows 7 doesn't recognize it and gives me messages saying it hasn't installed...

your windows 7 is trying to use the native driver for usb hard drive, but its having a hard time installing it so thats why you are getting it hasnt installed properly, you may want to install a driver specifically from your HDD manufacturer try to look for the driver on the website. you can also use the driver for vista on 7. hope that helps

I want to install my webcam on my laptop but its version is not compatible with my windows 7. how can I find it?

Download the driver for Windows Vista and run it in the compatibility mode selecting Windows Vista. You can do this by right clicking on the installation file and under compatibility. The web cam works fine. The only problem i found was that the camera settings are set to auto and cannot be changed. However, it works fine.

I replaced my hardrive and now there is no sound. UNder the control panel under sound/audio it reads no audio device

Sometimes the drivers aren't automatically updated or loaded when you install new hard drives. What I suggest is you download the sound drivers again for you Toshiba Satellite A135-S2276 laptop. Click here for the link to download site. All you have to do is enter your Operating System ( e.g. Windows 7, Vista, XP ) and you will click on the sound driver and download it.
Hope this helps and thank you for choosing FixYa.com

Restore Hardrive to Factory Settings, Missing Hidden Partition

Yes Claudia you are right. When you wiped the hard drive you deleted the partition that contained the systen restore (factory restore). You will have to purchase a new copy of Vista. It will not contain all of the other programs that came with your computer originally.
Before you installed Windows 7 it clearly states that you have to back up your system before you install it on your hard drive.
Why didn,t you keeep windows 7, if I may ask? If you made a copy of it (which you had to do when you insatlled it) reinstall it and use it. Microsoft will let you purchase it for $50.00, which is a lot less that what it will cost you to purcase Vista Home Premium.

NEED WIZ"S HELP- CANT BOOT XP OR VISTA CD FROM DVD DRIVE

Hello,

I'll give a whack at this problem. I think the previous person meant blank drive NOT black drive (that doesn't make sense to me).
I would follow the previous persons in going to BIOS and making sure the first boot device is CDROM. My question to you is whether you've already done this or whether you need assistance with this process. If so, please tell me what computer model you have.

Not Recognized?

Hi,
The device driver is causing a conflict with the system. If you have got any specific cd with hardrive install the driver from the cd. Otherwise , i would suggest try changing he manufacturer of the hdd and get a new one. If you have recently bought it.
Otherwise try creating a new account in windows vista on your computer and then try plugging in the drive

DVD hardrive problem

Do you check the setting of your hard drive? It seems that you have already another hard drive (HD) install which is working already were your operating system install. Try to put the 2nd HD setting in slave position. Follow instruction that is written at the back of HD. Your computer should read the 2nd HD as slave and will see it as drive: F or G and so on.
