What you are seeing is not the shutter but a lens protector. I think the camear has dirt in that area and it needs to be cleaned out. Do this with compressed air.

My polaroid i1036 wont turn on. i tried to turn it on with new batteries but it would just make a weird noise and not turn on. i just kept messing with it with a not so new set of batteries and the lens...

I was having the same issue. I was using "discount" batteries and switched back to Duracell Alkaline and all is well now. Not an issues since the switch back.NOTE: After going thru the manual , it says nothing about the "type" of batteries to use.

Can picture be brighter? shooting inside buildings that aren't well lit with flash shots are darker than other cameras.. Bill darker than other

The flash on your camera probably isn't good for anything past 7 or 8 feet. If it has a flash setting for slow sync or slow shutter sync, you might try that.

I have a polaroid i834 and the lens won't go in or out

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

My camera turns on,beeps 3x and then my camera shuts off.

Get some new rechargeable batteries, charge them over night, then put them in the camera. Take many pictures of family!

Polaroid i834 lens bent and lens protecter popped off wont turn on for more then two seconds

How did this occur?
If the lens was hit or dropped while the lens was out, that can cause a lot of damage.
First, Look at the lens as it is extended. You may be able to gently push the lens in the opposite direction after starting the camera. This has worked for me on some.
If the lens protector on the end of the lens has popped off, look at the problem. If the shutters have also popped out.... oh boy, that may not be able to be fixed.
You may want to sell this camera on Ebay as a broken or AS IS, PARTS, FOR REPAIR. These lenses are not the easiest to repair, and the small parts inside may be broken.
