Milk container won't fit onto front of machine

My Delonghi Primadonna coffee machine is fantastic but this morning I can't insert the milk container. The hot water spout works just find and gives the positive beep when inserted but the milk container just doesn't seem to fit! Nothing else on the machine has changed (position etc). Hopefully there is someone out there who can help - I need my Latte Macchiato

We had the same problem & worked out that it's because the actual milk container is too cold & has contracted from being in a cold part of the fridge. We moved the milk container to the door of the fridge ( it's a little warmer than the rest of the fridge) & it slotted in perfectly the next morning!

Place a little olive oil around the "o" rings and it will slide straight in.

De'Longhi PrimaDonna XS ETAM. It won't produce steam or take milk from the dispenser, but will make hot black coffee. Any ideas?

This normally happens because the milk supply tube is blocked with congealed, solidified milk. You will need to remove the tube and clean it manually.

When you do cleaning, make sure you use a specialty milk line enzyme cleaner like Rinza.

How can i attach the milk container

Add a little Petrol-Gel Food Grade Sanitary Lubricant to the two O-Rings on the machine were the milk container connects. If you do not have that available, wet your fingers with water and rub on O-Rings prior to inserting milk container. O-Rings dry out and go bad, they need lubricant. You can get Petrol-Gel at a restaurant wholesaler or Amazon.

Initial set up of delonghi ESAM6700 and it will not go past insert water spout stage. Even when spout inserted it does not recognise and we cant continue setting up the machine as it simply reads insert...

OK, I can answer this one... the same thing happened to me. It would not recognize the water spout. No beep when inserted, but it would beep if you inserted the milk container. Looking into the receptacle, I saw that the switch for the milk container is offset to the right, and the switch for the water spout is offset to the left. All I had to do was carefully bend the lower tang on the water spout that activates the switch to the left a little bit. It looked perfectly straight, but was just offset to the right enough to miss the switch.

Hope this helps someone.

I have had my Prima Donna for a month now and noticed that the milk container did not always slide in smoothly. This morning I really had problems with it. The machine keeps asking for the milk container...

Me too. Mine has been increasingly hard to fit. After speaking with DeLonghi service, they suggested lubricating the o-rings on the nozzles on the machine. I asked if cooking oil would be ok, to which they agreed. To I took a cottonstick and dipped it in ordinary cooking oil, and swept it over the inside of the two nozzles on the milk-container, since the o-rings on the machine itself were hard to get to. Now it works smoothly. I was reluctant to try that out before speaking with DeLonghi service, since they are so set on only using original stuff for the machine, and I did not think a machine this expensive would need this type of 'help'. Use at your own risk :-)

My delonghi magnifica is having a problem with milk..steam is coming through but no milk..can you suggest what the problem may be?

There are 'o' rings on the pipes (on machine - not milk container) where the milk container fits into. replace or clean them - should work like new.
