Loud screeching noise when spin cycle is on

That is the brake. Your clutch maybe wearing out. Or the belt maybe slipping because the rollers for the motor maybe wearing out.

Sounds like a transmission problem. Not worth the repair judging from age.

probably needs a new belt,water gets on it and makes it squeal

You either have something caught between the tub and basket or a bearing bad.

I have the same problem...during SPIN it make a LOUD SCREECHING sound.

could be the brakes, if the loud noise is like a screech probably your brake rotor and lining need replacing.

Check the motor on the machine, make sure that the motor is not grinding on itself. If that is not it then check the tub and make sure when that spins that it is not hitting the side of the housing

is the bottom foam shipping base still on the washer
