Picture failure Tv will not work. While watching tv color would sometimes fade in and out. During the last couple of days the picture would come in but the screen would turn green and picture disappears, also tv would somtimes turn off. Now screen is just green and you see no picture or not very clear at all.

I have the same problem with our panasonic hd plasma. The screen all of a sudden turned green. We can hear the sound and use the dvd player perfectly. The model number is TH-50px60u. It is a Panasonic viera? Viesa? June 2006.

    Any help?

KDF-60XS955--started getting horizontal green lines and now sometimes the whole screen is green. I can see the picture, but everything is green for a while.

I've got the same problem here. Mitsubishi WS-55511. Green horizontal lines arc accross screen, it fades to a washed out green color. Picture is still there but really washed out. This has been going on since the TV was about 1 year old. From what I've read on the internet it seems to be a VERY common problem. Service techs must now about this one. Is it worth fixing or do I dump this piece of technology.

Our Mitsubishi 48515 just went ALL green and within minutes powers off. Trying to turn it back on only results in the same pattern; all green and powers off. Trying to QUICKLY use the remote to change settings is difficult since the screen is all green and you can't SEE the selections very well. By the time you go to make a selection change, it powers off! Obviously it's turning off as a protective measure. I've unplugged it and am hoping that once it cools down it will be back to normal. I may use a "system reset" on the front panel to see if that helps. Any other suggestions? Caty

I have a 55 Vizio 3D smart tv. This picture color fade in and out to the point that I cannot watch tv. I this a problem with the main board?

Hello Patricia,
  • There is a loose soldering connection in the Main Board. That happens because the components on the are generating a lot of heat therefore melting solder connections.
  • Stop beating on the TV's back, that only makes the problem worse.
  • Take it to a shop.Or if you are a tech, try locating the loose connection(s) and solder it back.
  • Also check your Warranty Period, It may cost you 0$. Call Vizio if you still have Warranty on the TV.
Here is a link to Vzio Supoport.

Our Color TV is now Black & White

It could be the color wheel and in fact probably is. I've seen them shatter which would explain the noise. They are glass and spinn at 9000 rpm. An involved repair though definatley a job for a pro. It could be worse, probably a few hundred will do it. Was the TV begining to be a little loud before the failure? Could be a sign, i've seen many noisy color wheels.
