I have a Panasonic DVD F-65 Player. One of the discs is in the play position and will not come out. I have tried disc exchange, open/close, select another disc, etc. No dice. The disc selection lights flash like neon "chaser" lights and there is a message in the player window reading "rmtr."

The mechanism is now stocked. There is bad news because the service is needed now. It is possible to work on it but to determine how deep the problem went, the set has to be open to make a correct troubleshooting.

The low humming sound is the motor that opens and closes the drawer. It is moving, but the movement is not being transferred to the door by a pulley, a belt or a gear, When you open the drawer completely, it should stop. When the drawer is closed completely it continues to run until the disc is in the proper position to play. As long as that motor is running the DVD will not work because the disc is not in the proper position,

Most DVD player can't read open session discs, meaning when you burn your DVD movie there's an option there that when your disc is not full you can still add files on it, it's open session, in your case if you want to play it on dvd player you must select the finalize the disc to close the session and you can play it in any dvd player you want.

DVD player cannot read DVD disc.

Have you tried other DVD's in this unit and they work? If so it might be just an incompatibility issue with that DVD in your TV.

Panasonic dvr d 200 hand camera - the recorded disc doesn't play on regular dvd player

First I must say I have different camera, but in my case I must close the disc session from camera menu, so theat after it dvd could be played in dvd players and after it you can't record on that disk anymore. If you alredy know that, then sorry. I have a problem that some non-scratched in any way disks with data just don't respond at all, but that's another story. All the best.

Will not play any DVD

I may have bad news for you. Here's my story with the PVD4744S.

I watched over an hour of a DVD-video disc one night, no problems. The next night, I played only the intro; then the DVD player gave a message, "This type of disc cannot be played. Please insert another disc." Thereafter, I couldn't play any of several DVDs.

The manual gives little help:
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/PVD4744.PDF

My disappointment is exacerbated by the declining availability of DVD/VHS players with an RF modulator. Maybe Panasonic should create a repair kit for aging devices.
